Good to see that lads from the North doing well in the skills competition but one swallow!

I wouldn't be so sure silky, Slaughtneil (Derry) got to the division 2 semi final and were only beat due to the fact the were totally exhausted (they had an extra game to play than Portlaoise) having beat a Kilkenny team, Down team, Laois team and Lucan Sarsfields of Dublin.  And St. Johns ended up winning the dvision 2 final so the North is definitely up and coming in hurling.

It's decision time for GAA supporters in the county, as they will be forced to opt for either attending the Féile na nGael or following the county senior footballers to Croke Park on June 22nd. With the Leinster Council insisting the game go ahead at 2pm that day, it is in direct conflict with the Division 1 and Division 2 Féile finals which are scheduled for 2pm also.

Sorry for hi-jacking this thread but I didn't want to start a new thread on the feile.  Laoislad our club (Slaughtneil, Co.Derry) are being hosted by Rathdowney/Errill, just wondered what kind of club they are and if they have a good wee team, any players to watch out for??  Hopefully it will be a great weekend.

What makes you think its the footballers money, I'd have thought it was DERRY'S money which means it's available to everyone in DERRY GAA regardless of what the sport is??

Don't give me that crap about Michael Cusack and the GAA. Here in Derry, you follow Gaelic football and a few hurling. The hurlers should be able to stand on their own feet. Why should 5% get the same amount as 95%- Parity? BTW, if croke park sent  some of that money to the clubs where the work is done and not all spent on county players and the county board.

Derry will never be a dual county when you have people with a mindset like tonesfirstandlast, and this will not change until we have a county chairman that comes from a dual club who will be willing to help rather than rubbish hurling
