Remember horse screaming at Conor Gormley in a league game at Croke a few moons ago, went something like this ... Gormley! Gormley! Gormley! Gormley! Gormley! Gormley! Gormley! Gormley! Gormley! Gormley! Gormley! Gormley!

He finally looked over ... to which horse said ... "come on to f**k!"

High end stuff

Quote from: marty34 on Today at 01:00:29 PMGreat win for Offaly in the game of the week-end. Some crowd and atmosphere in Nowlan Park.  Great for it to be acknowledged on the anniversary.

As for the game, a super game but Offaly always seemed to have the edged and finished strongly. They have a strong spine and some silky lads up top. A good few different scorers also.  It showed how many players (from the two teams) who were in the minor a few years back - a good majority are back which is good to see.

Good to keep them players on board as I think it's harder to keep them on board after minor level, so, both Offaly and Tipp, have done a good job.  Maybe it's easier when you're in a county panel that's having a bit of success.

Offaly are a county on the rise. Joe Mc Donagh (which always seems to be a good final) should also be a good one between Offaly and Laois.

Jarlath Burn made a great sppech at the presentation. Even told the Offaly captain twice to say Hip Hip Horray for the Tipp team.

Always hated that bullsh*t

Surely a blind man could see we were targeting that, Conatys chance early on where he it the bar came from a long kick out and flick down by Grimley!

Yep. And we've been saying that since the Donegal game.
Agent Harte! Absolute madness. Someone said Derry management were screaming at Lynch to come out.

Quote from: snoopdog on Today at 01:20:59 PMQuick question. Looking at a 2017 santa fe mileage is 105k. So a little high. My mechanic has looked at it said he can't fault it. But for peace of mind there is insurance you can get for engine maintenance? Anyone know anything about this and its cost? What does it cover.
Extended warranty? I'd do some research into common faults with that particular model and check service history. Make sure warranty covers it.

Cheers

Quote from: imtommygunn on Today at 01:35:05 PMI only watched the game back and realised johnston came on. I think he will be a big addition. Hand is improving in that area too. I think if he ups his game discipline wise he's a good player for us. We could have beat Sligo there. Probably should have scored that last chance. The performance was very good tbh. Hopefully if we keep that up we have a scalp or two in us.

Thought we were doing well, running down the clock for one last chance leaving them no time to attack again. Ended up taking the shot too early

Quote from: LC on June 02, 2024, 08:21:51 AMGreat to see a victory for Offaly bearing in mind how as a county they have fallen by the wayside in recent years.  Will definitely be in the shake up for honours next year as they are only losing 4 of the starting 15.

No doubt they have a strong panel but I noticed last night that one of the guys being taken off was far from happy with the management.  None of us like getting the curly finger from the side line but as the saying goes there is no I in team.

Johnny and Leo weren't long letting him know what they thought of his antics.

Nipped in the bud.

A game of contrasts, one team was visibly more bulked up than the other, the additional year may well have been a factor or is it how one perceives hurling is going and the other still concentrating on hurling and technique and it certainly helped on the day, but will that still be the outcome at senior.

Young Screeney gets all the plaudits, but it's certainly not a one man show. Offaly have quality performers all over the park, plenty of the traditional Offaly wristyness and some had serious pace, a midfielder and the No.11 in particular and they were also shorn of one of their best defenders who was added late to the panel and only came on in the last 5 minutes.

Tipps need to get lads into senior is every bit as important to them as well now, young McCarthy has won all in front of him this year barring Saturday night, he'll maybe get a run in the league, although I think he may have another year at U20 also.

McCarthy is only 18 this year,he won't be seen in a Tipperary Senior Jersey for a few years yet

The days of throwing lads into Senior Intercounty at Liam McCarthy level when they are 19/20/21 is long gone

Knew McCarty was youngish but not that young in fairness.

You're right indeed and that's why it'll take Cork another year or two to push on at Senior level, even Limerick take their time blooding young fellas out of U20, the likes of English and even O'Neill are only beginning to establish themselves at around 23 and 24 years old.

If Offaly fail to win the Joe McDonagh though there's an opportunity to blood some of these lads at that level, Down have 1 U20 this year and another few out of U20 last year in their team and they're not out of place, at that level (repeat).

Liam McCarthy is indeed a different beast althogether.

You'd nearly feel sorry for McGregor at this stage. It's like a public case study in how not to handle fame, money and power. But too many people enabled it because he was a cash cow for them.
