Is O'Shea interested in having the job long term, or is he just filling in?

Quote from: weareros on May 17, 2024, 03:40:50 PMIt still feels this is going in the direction: after leaving no stone unturned, and engaging with some of the top managers in the world (not our fault they never returned our calls), we are happy with John's results as interim manager and we are delighted to offer him the job (please take it O'Shea, we're desperate now, and ignore Duff's sniping that we treated yourself and Brian disgracefully).

Duff is always complaining.

When you watch him on tv, he always seems an angry little man.  Plays up for the cameras, like Davy Fitz.

'The whole world is against me' type of attitude.

Attitude is not the best. Thought he was doing well with Hull. Think he picked a couple injuries as hadn't featured much lately.

Ladies getting another bad beating. Good job they got rid of the last manager. They strike me as a team full of egos

We had Sweden in our WC qualifying under Vera Pauw and we were more than a match for them home and away. Yes, they are one of top teams in world but we definitely have gone backwards.

Look-Up!

Huge fuss about McCabe as a footballer, and she is very talented and athletic, but doesn't seem to have much upstairs as a footballer.

Constantly goes chasing balls like a mad terrier, pulls her own team out of shape, leaves huge holes behind her.

Captain Scarlet

I find it odd how she seems to be above any hint of criticism. Like she wasn't even in the picture for the 1st goal and the Swedees made hay down that side.
But then the management need to decide what they want too. We really missed Littlejohn and O'Sullivan to get on the ball. Likewise Payne to bomb down the sides.
Connolly was woeful too and there are just no ideas when they get into the final 3rd. Also, the two up front are very similar and Kiernan was on the bench with real pace. That'd be a better.

It's a serious group but they seem to get caught with the same issues in a lot of games now and that's a big issue.
them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

Katie was on holidays in Australia only flew home Wednesday. Hardly professional preparation for a qualifier game.

If we had more quality, she'd have to do less. Because of her talent she is expected to cover a lot of ground and do a lot of things. She also sets the tone for the team. She plays for a top club in England. She had to fly from Australia this week.

The group is a nightmare group and I'd say we are still blooding players in preparation for the real stuff.

Had to laugh at a quote Pauw made recently in an interview with the IT; said she had to instruct her players to keep it as simple as possible, they weren't able to understand anything else.

Yep, Vera is vile. No surprise she's failed to find a job since.

When's the last time they scored a goal? Direct from a corner in the world Cup pool game was it?

Of course in a better team her job would be simpler and her mistakes would be covered better, I just don't think she's very intelligent, which is a bigger problem in a weaker team. Sweden made all their goals her side, and our best chances came from the other.

That's a bit of an embarrassing question and shows how much you follow the Women's national side. They have scored 20 goals since that goal.  ::)
