Quote from: tiempo on Today at 01:14:33 PMCome to think of it, did Lorcan Quinn ever get a minute for Tyrone while on the panel, and how long was he on the panel, anyone from Donaghmore able to confirm? Was definitely there in 2021 - did he seriously just train and sit on the bench for every game for 3 and a half years, while also being unable to play for club?He played McKenna cup at some stage either 2022 or 2023.
Quote from: RedHand88 on Today at 11:58:32 AMEach club to their own regarding their own preparation during pre-season. For majority the season ends with Championship. League finished very start of September. The Play-Off system is what you are questioning regarding club football still going in October. The League format as it sits at the minute May, June, July, August - thats when you want to be playing football and Tyrone leagues provide weekly football during these months. Long may that continue.Quote from: Goals_Will_Come on Today at 10:28:17 AMQuote from: RedHand88 on Today at 10:21:34 AMIt's June in 2 weeks ffs. Why was it even left this late to begin with? Derry have their 6th found of club fixtures this weekend and have played more county games than us this year!Don't be ridiculous. The May start has been the best thing Tyrone GAA have done in the last decade. The season has ran brilliantly the last two years with the Friday games and the May start date. League played through the best months of the year. Unfortunate change for Senior clubs having to wait an extra week this year but give me the current structure and calendar over a March/April start and lengthy gaps throughout the season.
Aye agree on the Friday nights, but last year club football went on to October, with training from January. So it's still taking up the most of the year.
Quote from: GlenMan on Today at 11:21:58 AMThat is incorrect. Clonoe played round 1, took quite a beating, McAliskey, McNulty and McClure left the panel that week and played in ACL Round 2. It was the season of the 7 or 8 starred games. Fixtures were not redone in 2021.Quote from: WeGoAgain on Today at 11:02:32 AMGames could have still started next week. Round 3 had Donaghmore and Eglish playing each other. Why not make that the first round and redraw the remaining fixtures if that is the approach they are going with.
I also don't understand why it is such an issue this year that fixtures have to be redrawn. Cormac Munroe left the Tyrone panel last year once the league had started. There are probably others from last year as well which I can't remember as well. I can remember Clonoe once had 3 players leave the panel and there wasn't redraw of fixtures - so why is it a big issue this year?
The fixtures definitely were redone when those Clonoe players left
Maybe the best thing going forward is just leaving publishing fixtures until a week or so before the start date?

Quote from: square_ball on Today at 09:51:31 AMFunny enough I did see Lorcan Quinn was playing a bit of soccer so was wondering whether that was with management blessing. Who is our back up keeper now?Oisin O'Kane Loughmacrory. Although I would say the U20 keeper will join with the squad after Sunday
Quote from: Blowitupref on May 13, 2024, 12:57:28 PMUlster counties went to the Ulster council wanting less games at Minor and U20 and Ulster council went to national council who came back with more games, everything had to have a round robbing system and tiers. Make of that what you will. Dilutes the competitions, ruins crowd numbers and takes away from Club Scene as well.Quote from: Goals_Will_Come on May 13, 2024, 11:02:39 AMQuote from: Blowitupref on May 12, 2024, 09:12:50 PMThe whole tiered championship adds an unnecessary amount of extra more or less meaningless games into an already bloated calendar.Quote from: From the Bunker on May 12, 2024, 06:41:00 PMQuote from: Blowitupref on May 12, 2024, 02:32:41 PMAll-Ireland B semi final result. Winning score deep into added time.
Down 2-10 Mayo 0-15
Thank god for that. Don't know what the point of this competition is?
U20 is development, grade the more matches the better for players. And will be B and C grade competitions in the All Ireland series at U17/minor this year.
October I believe U20s panels commence training and for all the training in the world the players themselves wants more games.
Quote from: Goals_Will_Come on March 25, 2024, 12:48:03 PMCan now add Lorcan Quinn and Conor Cush to the list of players who have left the County Panel.Quote from: Goals_Will_Come on February 09, 2024, 12:13:09 PMAn Ulster University side backboned by Tyrone players have qualified for the Sigerson Cup final with a 1-13 to 0-11 victory over Maynooth tonight. Darragh and Ruairi Canavan, Ciaran Daly, Conor Cush, Peter Og McCartan, Oisin McCann and Steve Donaghy started for Ulster University while Dara Curran, Adam Donaghy, Eoin Montgomery, James Quinn, Harry Morgan and second-half sub Danny Fullerton were named on the bench.Best thing for Conor Cush would be to release him back and let him have a full season with Donaghmore. Was fast tracked too soon after the 2022 U20 win, has done him no favours longer term. Good season with his club would surely help.
Oisin McCann for me stood out. Surely worth a go on the County panel, has the physical size and is full of talent. If he got a run with the county I think he would turn into a top player.
I remain unconvinced by Conor Cush, I am not sure if he is cut out for the top level.
Nathan McCarron another who would probably benefit from being released back to his club, two games this year and hooked at half time in both. Wouldn't be good for confidence.

Quote from: ClubScene13 on May 10, 2024, 11:28:56 PMKillyman beaten by Donaghmore Thirds which is the only game they won in 2023 (Donaghmore III lost every game last year). This is passed and will come into effect in 2025. Will also encourage more development teams. A positive move for the club scene as Junior football as it stands is dying a death with the big difference top and bottom.
Things must be getting really dicey for them lately, your heart would go out to anyone trying to keep the thing going with the amount of lads moving away at the minute. Must be trojan work.
Definite split in division 3 as many men have mentioned on here, Raymond Monteith mentioned it at county convention a few months ago. You could see there being a 3A and 3B in the near future the way things are going, the gap between the junior contenders and the bottom is widening every year.
