Third place rankings after Group stage was:

London 2 pts (-13), Wicklow 2 pts (-14), Tipperary 2 pts (-19), Waterford 2 pts (-24).

The top 3, London, Wicklow and Tipperary progress to the preliminary quarter-finals, along with New York. Waterford eliminated from the tournament.

Quote from: weareros on May 31, 2024, 09:52:30 PMWe had Sweden in our WC qualifying under Vera Pauw and we were more than a match for them home and away. Yes, they are one of top teams in world but we definitely have gone backwards.

Had to laugh at a quote Pauw made recently in an interview with the IT; said she had to instruct her players to keep it as simple as possible, they weren't able to understand anything else.
Yep, Vera is vile. No surprise she's failed to find a job since.
At least she's honest?

Quote from: Itchy on June 01, 2024, 09:29:48 PMWhen's the last time they scored a goal? Direct from a corner in the world Cup pool game was it?

That's a bit of an embarrassing question and shows how much you follow the Women's national side. They have scored 20 goals since that goal.  ::)

I though Roscommon's earlier goal chance was possibly a foot block by the keeper.
Referee too far away.
Second goal chance for Roscommon I don't see as a foot block - the ball seemed to be kicked at his foot but he was a reasonable distance away.
Actual penalty was on the soft side but there was a foul - but lots like it not given.
Mayo penalty was a foul but player had already overcarried - ref in decent position and should have seen it.
But then overcarrying is rarely penalised - it would be a different game if players could only take 4 steps!
