What's the latest on the mini takeover? And what will be achieved by this? Immediate changes, long term plan or both?

Hard to know whether to stick with ETH or not. I would say yes as they can't keep just sacking the manager. Lots of players to come back from injury, whether they are  much better than what they currently have remains to be seen. One thing is though they don't have any forwards to come back who will add goals. Is there money available in Jan? If so they will probably get shafted.

Announced today. 25% takeover and full control of all mens, womens and academy teams. Its a step in the right direction

A deal in place for some time and announcing it on Christmas eve after another defeat is typical of the Glazers PR.

Remains to be seen what difference it makes. Having someone else run the football operations that aren't as clueless as the Glazers business men buddies is a step in the right direction but the use of revenue generated by the club, investment into the club and the management of debt remain issues that directly impact football operations. Without full control of the club, INEOS will to some degree be operating with their hands tied in terms of football operations. Main question is should one expect a significant change when the club is in Glazer rather than INEOS control?

Don't quote me on this but I think i read somewhere that Sir Jim/Ineos can put money into the club and they get voting shares back in return

Not sure of the nuts and bolts but this is correct

Man Utd have had 2 world class managers post war, namey Busby and Fergie, with whom they have won leagues and European cups over several years. But outside of those legends the club has been mediocre. The history of the club post Busby features a series of managers who failed, just like now. Frank O'Farrell, Tommy Docherty, Dave Sexton, big Ron . That period of mediocrity lasted almost 2 decades and featured a relegation.  How about now, which is equally shit? Will they get relegated again before things improve ?

Not while the gulf of the championship and premiership is so wide!

Think that's obvious enough?

It's mad how Sir Jim will have invested more into Manchester United in a couple of months compared to the Glazers in nearly 20 years

If Utd are crap, how bad are Newcastle?

Newcastle have had a good few injuries recently, especially to key players.

Plus the European run hasn't helped them in that respect.

It'll ahow Howe where they stand panel wise and the level they need to get to.

No comparsion with Man Utd in my opinion.

Both your points on injuries and European exit are the same for Utd? Of have I missed that?

My comparsion is Utd are, in the main, in Europe every year while Newcastle are not. Utd are well seasoned in Europe and should know about panel depth etc.

Newcastle have struggled bit time this year with injuries and a European campaign. They haven't planned for it.

Both did well last season to finish in the top 4. This season more of struggle due to a lot of injuries. In hindsight both perhaps could have done without European competition with with their lack of panel depth.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

People are getting confused with Utd teams of Ferguson and what has come since.

The media hyperbole of Utd's demise or lack of winning or challenging the league is a bit boring or bad punditry from the media.

Takes away from how well the other teams, who play against them.

The delay of the INEOS involvement being ratified may save him
