Disappointing  result for us on saturday vs Omagh, probably weren't expected to win but the game was certainly there for the taking with 10 mins to go and the scoreboard level and just before colm mc gurk went off with a serious injury, thankfully hes recovering which is the most important thing.

Good win for us yesterday vs Edendork, started slowly in the first half but a goal just before half time sent us in with a comfortable lead at h-t. Omagh up next will be a trickier challenge.

Carmen looking like a team in severe transition.Dromore dominated them from start to finish. The 3 ex county men are a shadow of their former selves.Conor took a few chops that in days gone by it would have been him dishing them out,no O Neill cup be at Quinns corner this decade.
Would agree with your point about severe transition, that and like most other clubs a long injury list..This may not have turned the game yesterday but I feel it was still there for the taking with 5 minutes to go when munroe hit the post when 1 on 1 to level the game..And to be fair Mark donnelly has been one of our best performers this year to date.

I've said it before. Split reserves into East/West and into 2 divisions each so you have East 1/East 2/West 1 and West 2. Games played Friday nights, Top 2 or 4 in each group go into quarter/semi finals. Run these off over consecutive weeks with no postponements. Pretty similar to how youth football is done, which in my opinion is a success.
I still feel it wouldnt matter if the fixture is being played with the neighbours 5 mile down the road.  Asking any player to come out twice over the weekend to play football matches (in which they might only play one) is not going to work.

I get what you are saying, although the reserves would be swapping a match for a training session on a Friday night which I'm sure most would rather do. I think its worth a go anyway as the current system is on its knee's.
People may argue the current system is on its knees because of who is at the helm of the county team..But with regard to reserve fixtures, its hard for most D1 teams to argue against sunday games as most are lucky enough to comfortably field 2 teams every weekend, it seems to be D3 especially which is in need of reform in some sort of way.

They should mix it up more. Different days will suit different people. Even take the example above there'll be other boys who's Mrs work on a sat that would have to look after the kids. Or other boys who work on a sat evening that the games wouldn't suit.

Always thought Friday night was a good night for games. But when they tried to play games on a thurs night clubs said they had players working away that wouldn't be home on time, you'd imagine that could be an issue on a Friday to especially if you played reserves first. And when you don't play reserves first people complain that players have to travel twice for both senior and reserve games.
Agreed, playing the reserves games on a different day is completely out the question in my opinion.  Getting players out one day of the week may be hard enough but put yourself in a players shoes who is being asked to play both senior and reserve games in the one weekend. Not going to happen

Great 2 points today from carmen in a close game. Brennan kept quiet for the most part of the game! Good bounce back from the errigal defeat last week.

Heard today that our clubman Jonny munroe has left the county scene. I haven't heard the reasoning behind this but doesn't bode well for Harte with the Ulster championship only around the corner and players leaving the panel. Massive bonus for Carrickmore this year tho!!

The fitness of the players would be the responsibility of Donnelly, he would be the one carrying out the fitness testing's, using the GPS data to monitor a players fitness and fatigue lol, thast tells him when to up or down sessions. The coaching is Devlin and Donnelly.

BTW, who is managing Carmen this year?
Seamy mc callan.

Despite clearly a tough weekends training with Tyrone, Munroe was one of carmens best performers on the day vs a very defensive Strabane side (understandably).  Found it tough to break through the defence and forced to kick from distance which resulted in a large number of wides. All in all good performance though and 2 points back with us

To be fair carmen got a lot of men behind the ball too when the game was in the mixer, can see this being a regular occurrence with most teams in the county this year..Was impressed with our breakdown in defence and pace on the counter attack, something thats been missing this past few years..Hopefully a sign of things to come
