West Of Ireland Big Waves Capital of the World

Theres been talk of this secret spot in the west of ireland for giant waves for surfers, its just off the Mullaghmore head county Sligo ;). A few boyos from the North have found the location and filmed there last weekend.

There's another massive wave down there ("Aileen's" I think it's called that people have been surfing for the last few years).

It was initially hushed up as the surfers don't want it getting too crowded, so I guess the Cliffs of Moher was as good a guess as any.

Was that wave the other day, basically not just a storm? They had big waves in Dun Laoghaire as well.

Looks like Cú Chulainn came back and finished building the Giant's Causeway across to Scotland :o

Looks like Cú Chulainn came back and finished building the Giant's Causeway across to Scotland :o

makes sense materials are a lot cheaper now that we are in a recession

doesn't the wave have some name in Irish ?

The location might be Achill island high waves are usually there this time of year.

Err, no. As Sligonian said its off Mullaghmore in Sligo.
