Lads looking for a new show to watch after I've finished Game of Thrones.

i've watched Homeland, Suits, White Collar, Dexter, True Blood, Breaking Bad

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

House of Cards is amazing.

The Bridge (Swedish) is brilliant.

But if you haven't seen the Wire, you are a lucky bastard. I'd give a testicle to wipe it from my memory and start again. It's the greatest thing ever filmed.

Deadwood. ...Incredible show. A man's show though more than a couples show

annapr

I started watching Chicago Fire a while back and I'm really enjoying it.

Yep Frank is back on 27th.

The Killing (both versions) also a good shout.

I take it you have seen 24, still arguably my favourite.  The Blacklist and Person of Interest are very good too.

The Killing isn't bad.

I thought the killing was excellent, but very hard watch at times. I can be a sentimental divil these days, since I started having kids of my own, and that last scene (no spoiler alert) nearly killed me.

US version?

smort

Do not go near the US version of the killing, its diabolical in comparison to the original!!

Canalman

Wasn't too keen on Danish version either. Went on far too long and imo could have been easily made in 10 episodes. Dragged a fair bit and by the end I couldn't have cared less who killed her.

Borgen on the other hand is excellent although you may want to have some sort of interest in politics .

It was the US version I watched, and I thought it was good.

I understand what you mean canalman, though I enjoyed the slow pace of season 1. Seasons 2 and 3 were shortened to 10 episodes each. Haven't watched borgen as of yet, but it is on the ever-growing list.

Borgen is very good but the last season was average enough.

For me the Danish version is a classic, right up there with any other series I have watched. The US version is forgettable. They are actually quite different too.
