ONeill

That artist at the end stopped me in my tracks. I was halfway through a 3-legged St Bridget's Cross and put it down.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Good start for Masters of the Air. Will stick with it.

How far have you got? I watched episode 1 at the weekend and thought it was very good. No expense spared goes without saying.

gallsman

First two episodes are all that's been released and then it's one a week thereafter. I've watched the first two and enjoyed it a lot.

Like BoB and the Pacific, it's character driven. The action sequences are stunning of course, but always secondary

2 episodes into Tulsa King, loving it.

imtommygunn

I really enjoyed Tulsa King too.

Miners' Strike 1984: The Battle for Britain on Channel 4 or catch up.
The story of the strike through three different perspectives: A Derbyshire pit Village, the battle of Orgreave and the faceless forces who really run the country.
Excellent.

I watched a bit  of episode 1, but it didn't really  explain the lead up to the strikes. A bit of back story  was needed for me who can't really  remember  it at the time

Read up on the reasons for calling the strike. It's worth it.
You are right though, a bit of context is needed.
I unfortunately remember it very clearly. :-[

I gave it a miss as I thought it was a re-run of a miner's strike drama from the past but now I'll look out for it.
I remember Scargill came to Dublin during the strike, probably to open up bank accounts safe from confiscation. He said when walking the streets (from bank to bank?), women kept coming up to him stuffing fivers/tenners into his pockets.

I haven't heard that before.

Sometimes you have to watch what herself wants to watch and recently we have been getting through "The Morning Show".  It is a little like a tamer version of Succession, maybe. Certainly watchable.

Billy Crudup as Cory Ellison steals the show IMO.

I had been disappointed in Masters of the Air. Certainly not on Band of Brothers or Pacific levels. The latest episode was really good though. Hopefully that trend continues

Loudermilk on Netflix is very good.
