Looks like the injury imp has struck yet again for Galway. Seems like they will be down a few big players at the weekend and maybe beyond.

What ever about the local politicians running for Westminster - the only real interest I have in that is the nationalist v unionist count at the end of it. An increase in the number of nationalists might nudge us further towards a border poll.

It feels inevitable that the Tories are going to lose in a landslide Labour victory and as much as I want to see that, I can't help but feel Starmer is not going to change much. I'm not a fan of his. It's such a pity Labour aren't going in with a Corbyn-esque leader who I think would do some real good. I know he wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but I think he was honest and had the good of all people at heart.

Loved Oasis at the time - top 3 songs:

Live Forever
Don't Look Back In Anger
Wonderwall

Went to see them in Cork mid 90s - 96 maybe.
They were supported by the Prodigy who I wasn't a huge fan of.
But....Prodigy were class and Oasis kind of bored me when they came on stage after them.

Always looked at Oasis in a different light after that.

I do have a 90s playlist on Spotify and there are a good few Oasis songs on there.

My teenage kids actually love them, and my 18yo has been to see Noel a few times.

Dunno, was listening to a football podcast and they were saying Everton will have to sell players to balance books or whatever, Pickford likely one of those that will be sold.

Quote from: Sportacus on Today at 09:37:58 AMGavin admits there is an Irish Sea Border.  Pathetic that Nolan had Jeffrey in front of him for hours and let him spoof away that checks and customs were gone - there are checks every day of the week at the ports in Belfast and Larne.

As there always has been?

Quote from: tiempo on Today at 10:13:29 AMFound it notable the turnover in players between minor and U20 in recent years

Very few of the minor team who lost to Meath were playing in the recent U20 win, with a number of starters not even on the panel, in effect a very young U20 team with some only finished up at MacRory

Similar a few years ago when McHugh was MF on the winning U20 team 3 years before his final year

How is it that 17-18-19yos are significantly outnumbering 20yos on the 20s team?

Fall off between 20s and Senior is to be expected, but seems a gap between minor and 20s

There is some serious talent coming through at the moment but Senior mgmt is the big ticket item on the horizon, the right appointment is critical, no idea who would be best
Any notable omissions that come to mind? Guessing Strain would be the main one

Quote from: Armagh18 on May 29, 2024, 05:21:07 PMIn the event that two teams or more finish with equal points, but have been affected by a disqualification, loss of game on a proven objection, retirement or walkover, the tie shall be decided by the following means:

(i) Least number of Walkovers given.
(ii) Score Difference from the games in which only the teams involved, (teams tied on points), have played each other (subtracting the total Scores Against from the total Scores For)
(iii) Highest Total Score For, in which only the teams involved have played each other, and have finished equal in (ii)
(iv) Highest Total Goals For, in which only the teams involved have played each other, and have finished equal in (ii) & (iii)
(v) A Play-Off

From opening page on this thread. Fair chance we lose to Derry and beat Galway and everyone beats Westmeath. In that case score difference only from the games between us, Derry and Galway would come into it.

Heh?

Surely that's only in the event of a 'disqualification, loss of game on a proven objection, retirement or walkover' if I'm reading this correctly.
Yeah my mistake.

Fermanagh really had Kildare's number in the league but a lot has changed since then for us. But, how are they going?

In reality there are no amazing teams down here, so I'd like to think Kildare can continue to lift it. Kevin Flynn is back and there are a few lads with niggles hopefully pushing too.

Leitrim in Longford will be the stiffest test, so hope to keep momentum.
