Have boiled too much rice.  Can I boil it up tomorrow and use it then?  Have heard various rumours aboutt the advisability of this.  Can you do it?

Absolutely, it'd be sinful not to. Just refrigerate it.

Or fry it up tomorrow, will be lovely - really hot wok and the right amount of oil.

Lecale2

Go for it! A lot of take aways reheat rice all the time.

Boiled rice should be fine...fried rice seems to be a bit dodgy...well it was for me in Spain anyway  :-[ (I didn't reheat it; had it in a restaurant my guess is it was like fried earlier in the day and not kept at the correct temperature or something)

My guess would be you were drinking to much!  :P

A good load of rice cooked at the start of the week should feed you all week. Fire a few veggies into it and a bit chilli sauce!

Yes, and some (well one I saw this week) keep a big barrel of rice out the back, in the rain. The wee chinky boy came out and filled a pot out of the barrel.

Hardstation - I take offence at the use of the word 'chinky'. It is disgraceful to talk about slanty-eyed people like that. Wise- Up..

I threw that in on purpose. Some did the nut when some boy called the judges of Kenny Egan's fight 'chinky b**tards'. It's a bit stupid, I reckon.

Going on his past form - was that boy Paddy Barnes?

No. Some boy on this board. Other posters cracked up.

Did u miss the Irony of 'Slanty-Eyed People'?

Puckoon

There are no problems reheating almost anything. Maybe I have a cast iron constitution.

BIG NO !

I'm no gordon ramsay but i DEFINITELY recall some cooking show on one night there and it said NOT to reheat rice, I cant remember exactly why but it did make me sit up and think !!

Puckoon

Eat it cold then! I eat cold chinese food all the time.

downgirl

You could use it for a cold rice salad...there you go economical and healthy!
