The 4 provincial champions are in the top 5 on scoring average

Downs 'against' tally doesn't bode well for the match against wexford!

I was talking bout the fact its 666  :D wasn't suggesting they have a bad defence.....apologies for any misunderstanding  ;)

Not losing games must be good for the scoring average.  ;)

Dublin best scoring avg and best defensive avg - not a bad start so far...

Nothing to do with the fact that Leinster is the most uncompetitive province; Louth, Westmeath and Wexford; is it any wonder Dublin are talking about Sam.  ::)

Louth who only lost by by half the amount against Tyrone that they did against Dublin
Westmeath who lost to Tyrone only after being down to 13 men and are Div 2 league winners
Wexford who got badly beaten but are Div 3 champions ahead of Down/Fermanagh etc...

Armagh played Cavan, Down, Fermanagh who are hardly world beaters by any stretch of the imagination and they are miles behind on averages..

I saw both these games and was at the Dublin one. The big difference was that the first half was a tight encounter with Louth v Dublin and then Dublin put the foot down and ran out a big score when they finally got clear.
Tyrone v Louth had Tyrone absolutely run riot in the first half and then simply let the game fade out second half and allowed Louth to come back with no real worry of losing the match. They knew they would have a game the next week and rightly rested themselves to a degree.

Exile - how did you generate these averages? Am I reading wrong or are Galway scoring 1-50 per game? :o :o :o

Galway are scoring 1.538 points for every point conceded (goals accumulated as 3 points).

For example, Galway:
Scored 6 goals and 42 points, total => 60 points
Conceded 2 goals and 33 points, total =>39 points.

60/39 = 1.538

I don't want to be awkward here lads but what your talking about is not the scoring average.

You have calculated is the ratio of 'scores for' against 'scores against' which produces a somewhat interesting table, but is not the scoring average.
