What odds on taylor transfering to Sunderland now? ;)

Absolutely brutal tackle altogether. I hope the arsenal lad makes a full recovery. as for the ban for life campaign, pure and utter bollocks.

Agree on all points Stew - Eduardo was very unlucky, and I hope he can recover frm this.

Taylor was guilty of being slow and clumsy, and was totally beaten for speed - I would have my doubts that there would have been the intent to cause that sort of damage.

I laughed my arse off a few minutes ago Rufus, I was informed by my drunken mucker Houley jnr " for fcuks stew, I tried to break boys legs for twenty years and couldnt do it".

I think that proves your theory of no intent.

Keane did try and do it, didnt break haalands leg but ended his career.

Eduardo - I am determined to overcome this injury

By Richard Clarke

Eduardo has given his account of the terrible events at Birmingham City on Saturday.

The Croatian, 25 on Monday, broke his leg following a challenge from Blues defender Martin Taylor in the third minute of the game at St Andrews. He was taken to hospital and underwent surgery that night. The striker has since returned to a London-based hospital for further treatment.

Speaking for the first time after the incident, the summer signing  from Dinamo Zagreb ruled himself out of the rest of the season and Euro 2008 in the summer however he added that he is 'determined to overcome this injury'.

"I don't remember the incident very well and it is not something that I want to see again on television or in the newspapers," said Eduardo.

"All I remember is that when I fell, I looked down at my foot and it had turned the other way. The rest is just a blank. It was an unfortunate situation but these things can happen in football.

"I am unsure at the moment of the extent of the injury and how long I will be out of action for but I know that I won't be able to play for Arsenal for the rest of the season or be ready in time for the Euros this summer.

"But I'm not worried about that. My concentration and determination is on making as quick a recovery as possible. I am determined to overcome this injury.

"I would like to thank the medical team here at Arsenal for their efforts as well as the staff at Selly Oak Hospital who carried out the operation on Saturday night. Everyone there made me feel as comfortable as possible.

"I would also like to say how touched I am by the many messages of support I have received and to be surrounded by my loved ones at this time."

Taylor makes Eduardo visit
Defender speaks with injured striker

By Peter O'Rourke   Last updated: 24th February 2008

Skysports.com understands Birmingham defender Martin Taylor has visited and spoken to injured Arsenal striker Eduardo da Silva.

Taylor made the personal visit to Birmingham's Selly Oak Hospital to see Eduardo after being left distraught by the serious leg injury suffered by player. Eduardo suffered a horrific broken leg just two minutes into Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Birmingham at St Andrews on Saturday.

The injury occurred after the Croatian was caught on the leg by a mistimed tackle by Taylor with the defender seeing red for the incident. The injury left Taylor visibly shaken as he left the pitch with Eduardo being stretchered off after receiving lengthy treatment on the pitch.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger launched a stinging attack on Taylor at his post-match press conference before later retracting his comments. It is understood Taylor sought out Wenger in the tunnel after the match to speak to the Frenchman and to find out about Eduardo's well-being. The former Blackburn defender tried to visit Eduardo at hospital on Saturday evening, but was unable to see the player as he was undergoing surgery.

Taylor returned to the hospital on Sunday morning to see the player and is thought to have spoken to Eduardo to find out the full extent of his injury and pass on his best wishes for his recovery.

he made a mistake and unlike some he was apologetic, he obviously feels very badly about the situation and seems very concerned about the player. This will be hard for him to forget but he better forget about it and move on, if he is not as committed because of this he is finsihed.

Fair play to Taylor, however you'd need to be an awful gulpin to do that and not feel badly about it, even when it is accidental.

Eduardo is a brave man, however he has a long rehabilitation to go that will take even more courage. Hopefully it will go well for him.

QuoteTaylor makes Eduardo visit

Ye'd think Taylor would've visited him. Bit harsh and somewhat tyrannical of Taylor to make Eduardo visit and him with a bad leg an all.
