Dinny Breen's booze cruise to Newry got me thinking, the price of a pint went up in my local to £2.40 STG last week, any regional variations out there as I think that it still cheap in comparison.
Jaysus, that's cheap.  I was in a boozer in Armagh after the challenge match against Dublin and was very pleasantly surprised at paying £2.60.  In my local in Belfast, I pay £3.05.
£3.05 sounds about right for city centre prices or is that a local pub outside the centre?  Just back from my local club and it's £2.40.  Private members' club so that's probably about right too. Saw in the newsagentst tonight that 20 smokes are £6. That's pretty expensive in my book.

A bit of am old tread but was charged 3.15 for a pint in omagh last weekend while it is still 2.50 in my local. Thought omagh was pricey but maybe i am wrong
God bless the hills of Dooish, be they heather-clad or lea,

Puertobanus at easter, €6.60. Outrageous.
Do you think Usain Bolt could replace Thomas Walsh?

Hatfield - 3.10 a pint
The bot - 3.00 a pint, although the bot currently have an offer on - most pints 2quid from two till seven mon to thurs.  Not bad value.  Both the eg and the parlour have 3 for a fiver on selected drinks!

Oh its great being a student  :)

My mate just sent a picture into our groupchat this morning, a receipt for 2 pints in Belfast.
1 pint was £7.20 and the other was £6.90. 2 Pints = £14.10.

Looking at some of the old comments here, how the hell did we get here :o  :o

According to some it should be the same price nearly 20 years on....
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Anything over a fiver should be illegal. Or poured down your neck by a Megan Fox lookalike.

In fairness by the time you get a pint bought and poured theres not much profit in it.

Spirits, mixers and bottles though you make a fortune.

Quote from: Square Ball on December 24, 2007, 05:24:01 PMOh my God!!!!!!

The price of a pint of beer in Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK could rise by as much as 20% next year, industry insiders have said.
Spiralling manufacturing costs are being blamed for the anticipated hike.

Stephen Kelly from the Federation of Licensed Vintners said the necessary raw materials have "risen in value enormously in the past year".

"The grains and the metals for kegs have risen so much that it's going to have a knock-on effect," he said.

If it goes up by 20% then it will be £3.10 a pint (rounded down)

How much is a pint now, 18 years later?

If the higher prices result in less sales , pubs closing as a result less demand then surely prices have to come down ?
