Exactly. We are going into a tournament in the worlds biggest economy in the full knowledge it will be a shitshow.

Morocco pulled of the tournament well. A dodgy referee isn't on them.

The shitty behaviour of the ball boys/men is though and the other bullshíttery they were up to with Nigeria as well isn't a great look for the WC.

If Morocco is meant to the a 3rd World country their stadium looked all but 3rd world.

Don't believe the press.

As for match fixing there's quite a few English lads in the mix there as well, Ivan Toney, was he not involved in something or other?

Yes and he was suspended for 8 months. The English FA do not tolerate it.

Unlike the IFA, which has tolerated it for too long.

It's not his day job though. He runs a, well, food importation company.

Surely that's a conflict? How did he get the Board Bia job in the first place?

The CEO of a major food company that imports food being on the board of Board Bia wasn't a thing until the farmers decided Mercosur was this weeks panic. They are a blunt lobby group, and this is peak IFA.

The thing got passed so they are targeting potential competition. Import Brazilian beef? We will hound you.

Why wasn't this a thing last week?

1% of the beef used comes from Brazil.

Would ye whist

My son just told me as he has got an inflation pay rise to bring him over £100k he now loses help with childcare etc- so his £2700 payrise is actually costing him £5000. Where is the incentive for people to better themselves

The childcare is based on gross not net though and pension contributions etc don't count. If you're on the brink of 100 then with outgoings it is unlikely you'll lose childcare.

I didn't know about it, doubt many did but it doesn't sit right with me. I'd prefer we didn't import any Brazilian beef.

Pay more into a pension and bring it below that level..

But there will be little sympathy from people (not me) that will say earning that should be enough to cover childcare

He'll need to do a self assessment also
