It doesn't outrage me at all but 'them' is not a person's name..
Them is a pronoun that refers to more than one person... how can one person be 'them'?
With it all I mean for practical reasons not that religious fundamentalism?

Hypothetically if someone drives into you and you don't know anything about them yet, you would be right in saying "they drove into me, the damage to my car was done by them".

Strange one this. 19 suspensions seems abit excessive- obviously no one deserves to feel intimidated at work but if you're going to work in a school with teenagers you can't afford to be too precious. Hard to comment on it without knowing the full detail

I haven't a problem calling someone by their chosen name, but a pronoun such as 'them' when it is a singular person in front of me, no way.

Why? What difference does it make to you? I don't understand the reason someone would choose pronouns for themselves but who am I to say they shouldn't just because I am content with how I'm addressed? And if using a different word makes life easier for them and makes sh1te all difference to me, why would I choose to not do that?

We all call people things they want us to call them.

Every single one of us knows a Paddy, Marty, Jim, Des and so on.

When did Ms instead of Miss or Mrs start?

When you are talking about them, say them, not he or she.

It takes more effort to be outraged.
