Either way the poor child is probably still traumatised.

If that statement is true about what one of the staff is meant to have said, they need a good boot in the bollox.  Horrendous.

Certainly at odds with the mothers' comments and demenour of police as they are "assisting" in the removing of the child. But if it wasn't videod that wouldn't be seen.

If I was the PSNI and I arrived I would say to the shop that there might be a lot of paperwork on this matter, interviews and the like, maybe even health and safety inspections; or they could take the £2 and not have to do any of that.

There must be something missing from this.
How bad did the situation become that the mother needed to phone the cops to de-escalate it?
Then the cops felt that they needed to remove the girl the way they did.

I'm not trying to victim blame, just trying to understand why both the above happened.

Was there a possibility that she was going to harm someone or herself?

What was the mother looking from the cops that she & her husband couldn't do themselves?

Yeah I don't understand why the mother would phone the police? On what grounds did she phone them? "Hi there's a person here who won't accept £2 for a DVD"? If the shop had treated her like shit surely you'd have been better leaving and making an appeal or complaint afterwards. Is it a regular occurrence to phone the police if your autistic child has been refused service?

I think the family needed to get their story straight before attempting to go viral, the wee girls sister in particular

The family seem to be no strangers to "seeking answers"

Good for them... as stated in that item:

Commenting on the figures Northern Ireland's new Children's Commissioner, Chris Quinn, said they were "alarming".

He added: "The fact that there were 22,000 accidents and unsafe acts in our schools in recent years shows action is needed immediately. What is particularly worrying is that a large proportion take place in special schools.

"There are almost 1000 schools in Northern Ireland, so for 30% of these incidents to be taking place in the 39 special schools clearly represents a grave disproportionality and is cause for huge concern."

Having known about the previous issue, don't see the point of it been relevant to the shop situation.

Truthsayer

It's not relevant. It was an attempt to undermine them highlighting the incident in the shop.

I don't know the whole  ins and outs of this story (obviously),  and I'm not trying to belittle whatever  did take   place  ... but that seems to be the  done thing nowadays.  Get onto Facebook and  rant about something that happened , rather than  take a few minutes, and think about things rationally.

The incident happened before Christmas.. the post went up two days ago (27th). They took more a few minutes... was a number of days to think about things rationally.
