Maifi should have walked earlier for another high tackle... he is too fond of them by times...  Big 3 points for Munster when down to 14 men..

Sexton and Reddan coming on now.  could be a cracking final half hour

Would be hard when they didn't have the ball

It is the blue-riband clash of domestic Irish rugby in the first year that the Magners league is to be broadcast on free-to-air television.

BBC ni and RTE have committed licence fee payers' money in a deal to entertain viewers with top class sport and presumably in the view of the IRFU promote rugby to a wider audience.

So can anybody understand why the Leinster v Munster clash, before a sellout 50,000 crowd at the Aviva Stadium tonight, is broadcast on TG4?

Cue all rugby fans all over the country turning the sound down on their television sets and tuning in to the RTE radio broadcast in English.

Of course this is not so easy in the north where best RTE reception is on long wave and avoiding interference from the television signal will take Brian O'Driscoll footwork.

If some clever dick thinks this is a great way to promote Irish, think of the damage already done to the language by the culture of enforced learning.
Has anyone consulted Nally Stand?

Capt Pat

I was at this game tonight in the lower deck of the south stand, shit view for a game of rugby, need to be higher up or in the east or west stands. It didn't look like a great game of rugby from what I could see of it. Good thing the ticket was free.

Munster will always look a bit ordinary without their best forward O'Connell and best back earls. Leinster had their first good game of the season and inevitably won the game.

Watching on TG4 took nothing away for me! For long periods reminded me of two auld heavyweight boxers slugging it out. Leinster deserved the win because they were more inventive. Some bustle on Baggot St earlier as pubs geared up. Like a six nations event

Almost felt sorry for ROG everytime Heaslip was running at him. Counted 4 times when Heaslip just steamrollered him. He will have a sore head in the morning!

TG4 in general do an excellent job on the sport coverage, considering their budget. Our hearing has already been well assaulted by enforced listening to that Nordie lisper on Sky and RTE's Ryle (glory glory munster) Nugent.

They had the ball for those minutes - ending up inside the Leinster 25, when O'Leary knocked on - under no pressure. And they had the ball when O'Leary kicked the penalty to touch

Capt Pat

What was O'Leary thinking at the end? He had the ref right beside him and a big clock in the stadium and off he goes racing to boot the ball into touch. He only had to take it quickly if he was going to run it and if kicking the ball to touch he should have asked the ref if there was time left to take the lineout as well.

Main Street

A Munster of old would have relentlessly inched their way to the line when O'Leary knocked on.

Kicking away the last ball just showed definitively that the wee lad is not all there.
