"Breaking Ball" used at every midfield tussle when the ball is up for grabs

Where did that come from? It's used to baseball to describe a ball that doesn't travel straight to the batter.

I suppose they couldn't use "ball breaker" as a description of a player's tactic?

What about words/phrases only used in GAA...has anyone ever heard John Motson talk about a "schemozzle" in an Arsenal/Man Utd game?? ;D

It annoys me the way Ger "enterprising ball" Canning says JJ Delaney, he pronounces it JAY JAY Delaney really emphaizing the JJ bits the same way he says James CHA fitzpatrick and the way he used to say Liam MAC Hale

Feckit I've been meaning to mention Tommy's 'gain line' here for a while - good man rpm. He was going on about it a few weeks ago as well and I fell around laughing. Is there a more complete bluffer in TV punditry?

What next from Tommy? Mayo forwards shooting googlies (that might make some sense, though)?

Never mind the Sunday game, what about Brian McIvor and his "whatdyacallits".

Or..."Ryan Giggs, a member of the famous three in a row side"...or "Lawrie Sanchez, new manager of the Thamesiders"  "The Chelsea back four, hunting in packs"
