I think Heaney will go to full back as well, with Tom Cunniffe taking his place in the half back line (or possibly CHB with Kilcullen taking Heaney's place).
Solid looking team - Cunniffe was very good when he came on last week. Stuck tight to his man and tackled fair and hard. Happy with that team. Will be very tight, but I think we probably have our best team out.
Are there many travelling? I'm going up anyway - hopefully there'll be decent Mayo support.

when was the last time Mayo started a championship game without a Crossmolina man on the pitch? It seems odd that last years county champions don't have a representative on the field, I wonder how many other counties in the country have that boast!

I'd say it was 1995, Ciaran MC made his debut in 1993 with Jack O'Shea but he came on a as sub and was a sub the following year so i think himself and Jimmy made their first championship starts in 1995 ,yeah it seems funny not having a crossmolina player starting however if mayo progress i think they will have a big part to play jimmy settled things down when he came on against cavan, i heard Jimmy and Mc were flying in Training the other night and that Jimmy didn't give hanley a touch of the ball . also if we have 6 better forwards than a fully fit Ciaran Mc we have some set of forwards

Mayo should win this. Even though Derry beat Armagh I am still not convinced that they are anything more than an average team who have to work very hard for scores. Mayo could well be like Galway in 2001 when a first round loss was a blessing in terms of identifying what needed to be done. They are still one the top four or five teams in the country with a very strong panel - supplemented by the availbiity of players from Ros :D Anyway I expect them to win this by four or five points.

An awful lot of Ros men playing for Mayo these days >:( >:(

Indeed there is. As an aside, can any of ye tell me what famous footballer of bygone days is an uncle of Kilcullen?

This is a very tricky game for Mayo. I think there biggest problem is that they might not be able to get as fired up for this match as they would if it was Tyrone or Armagh due to Derry's lack of success this last few years. That could be a recipe for disaster depending on which Derry turns up. Derry at home on top form can be one of the hardest teams on Ireland to beat. A win here for Mayo though could really bring them on and open up the possibilty for a good run. Mayo dont seem to be goin well on recent form so Id say there chances arent much more than  50 50. Still raging at RTE for showing the Cork Tipp challenge match at the expense of a knockout between 2 of the top 10 teams in football.

If the Derry team that played Armagh show up, I think we will shade it.
Especially given home advantage and the fact the Muldoon will probably come on as an impact sub.
Really looking forward to the game as I think it has the potential to be a real spectacle....just hope I make it, my missus is about to have a kid at any moment... :o :o :o

Like you Barney I hope I will see greatness before my eyes tomorrow....a great goal by Paddy Bradley, followed up by a great goal by Enda Muldoon and then a wave of great points from the half forward line....then we'll name the baby Daire!
