Fintona will be strong in Ulster. However Stewartstown will be closer than people think in Tyrone. They are used to levelling up a game.

I also think if Fintona are in Ulster they could be nipped. I'm not sure I've seen them with a complete performance yet.
What gives you the optimism for strwartstown? They were well behind glenelly in the league

Do you not think Pomeroy are stronger than Derrylaughan of two years ago 2024. I do. Derrylaughan were beaten in the Ulster semi by ballinderry by 1 point who were beaten all Ireland finalists.

Logically Fintona are too strong for The Harps. Howver we've seen time and time again how Stewartstown can drag teams down to their level and I say that with more respect than it reads.

I fancy Fintona to win but not at the canter some make out.

I don't think so. I think both teams are of similar standings going in to Ulster.

Pomeroy have the 2 big names but also Ronan Duffin's a fine player. I'm just not sure they're strong enough defensively.

Prob a lot of my pessimisim stems from a poor league campaign that was a result of a lot of players missing.

St Peter's v Keady in Armagh IFC.
Ballyhegan v Collegeland in JFC.

Armagh18

Quote from: general_lee on October 02, 2026, 03:17:53 PMI fancy Pearse Óg in Armagh. Them and St Peter's the two strongest teams. Whoever wins that semi should win the final. I've known to be wrong on these matters before but they're slightly ahead of the other two semi-finalists.

At Junior level, winner of Middletown/Ballyhegan semi final should come out on top. Collegeland won in 2024 but they've lost a few players. Corringshego getting to a final would be a shock in itself.

Given the lopsided nature of Division 1 and 2 clubs from other counties playing Intermediate and Junior football, I would not expect either of Armagh's representatives to make a dent at provincial level.
Not sure. St Peters are strong enough, have ran the likes of Cross and Cullyhanna very close in recent years I think

Monaghan IFC semi-finals

Ballybay v Clones

Ballybay who were SFC winners in 2022 *and beat Crossmaglen) in ulster that year should win. They  are only in intermediate due to an injury crises last year, but they are an ageing squad with a lot of their best players wrong side of 30. Dessie Ward still the beating heart of this side.

Clones have been improving, but in 60 minute match are a jekyll and hyde side. Interesting fact: former
irish soccer international Jonathan Douglas (played for Leeds and Blackburn) is in goals for Clones. In his younger days, he played minor for Monaghan.

Emyvale v Donaghmoyne

Last years JFC winners Emyvale were impressive in knocking out Aughnamullen. Emyvale still not operating from a full deck: Karl Gallagher hasn't kicked a ball since he went of injured in the Westmeath game. Monaghan U20 Johnny Wright also injured. But Ryan McAnespie and Michael Hamill are back which is huge for them. Two super players at intermediate level. Hamill's younger brother Harry has been one of the breakout stars of the IFC.

Donaghmoyne are a more experienced team than Emyvale. But they remain a team where if you hold Davy Garland to the minimum of damage , they are not the same threat. Tough one to call. If Emyvale had Gallagher, I'd back them , but Donaghmoyne are more battled hardened.

I was a bit surprised at how good Keady were in Armagh IFC yesterday. St Paul's probably not as strong as in recent seasons but Keady have really got their act together, plus they were missing their young County Senior prospect Tomas Galvin. St Peter's favs in the final I'd imagine.

Some good players, O'Hara seriously good forward and plenty of big physical lads. Should really be operating at senior level given the population of the town. Don't see them troubling St Peters in the final though who are a strong side

In Antrim it'll be

Aldergrove v Naomh Eanna in the IFC Final
Rasharkin v Eire Og in the JFC Final

St Enda's are really a senior team, so I don't give Crumlin much of a chance.

They're not. Been poor this last few years.

Lacken won Cavan junior championship easily. No surprise with Thomas Galligan giving a Man of Match performance. Intermediate final is Denn v Butlersbridge.

Division 1 or Division 2?

Relegated from division 2 to division 3 this year.

But could potentially be Cavans strongest champion of recent years which further enforces the point that league means very little in Cavan.
