Arsenal bought a striker that gives them an extra string to their bow and contributed massively to winning a CL semi final, thems the breaks

If Arteta really wanted to throw the cat among the pigeons for the final starting Odegaard at 10 and Eze at 9 could completely catch the opposition off guard and be very potent, Eze a fair hep of a lad and better than Gyokeres and Havertz, think he'd be more than adept at 9, neway it'll never happen

Quote from: tiempo on May 06, 2026, 10:16:59 AMGyokeres unlocked that performance from Arsenal especially the last 20mins

Instead of retreating to the edge of the box and inviting a barrage to hang on, the level of pressing high up from the front 4 was awesome

Gyokeres was the first line of aggressive defence and a great out ball time and again, he must be full of confidence at the minute, was unlucky with a tough volley for 2-0, hopefully starts to find the net a bit more often now too

While not the biggest fan of Havertz I think he's potentially the better option vs Bayern/PSG, but you have to back Gyokeres after that performance as he'll run his balls off and Havertz won't
Havertz held up the ball up very well in the City league game.

Gyokeres is a bit of a flat track bully who still has it all to prove in big games.  A few here getting a bit excited over a £60 million striker being able to hold the ball up and run around chasing a few lost causes
Turned the CH time and time again from nothing balls. There was even a red card check on him. Constantly put Athletico on the back foot when pressure was starting to build on Arsenal. A bit disingenuous with that statement.

Says it all when Manchester born United fans want City too win the league, these are lads in their early 20's who've no rivalry with Arsenal either.

Keown talked about the lack of class in the first leg, Arteta and the subs were a disgrace last night.

Tiempo with his bad takes I've missed these 😆

Aye fire a man on at centre forward for the first time for a champs league final, that'll work 🤣

Agreed.  No idea why the ref didn't tell the subs to get back to their seats.  They had no business being on the touchline like that. Arteta was acting the maggot as well. Thought managers were supposed to stay in their technical areas? He was nowhere near his!
That's just, like your opinion man.

Who would Arsenal rather play? Who are we cheering for here

Probably prefer to play Bayern but sure look a final is never going to be easy.

Look-Up!

PSG much more tactically fluid and astute than Bayern. Formidable opponents but think some are bigging them up more than what they actually are. Arsenal more than capable of beating them. Their defense is much better than anything the French will have come up against. Obviously will need a bit of luck but PSG waste some amount of chances too from the last 4 games I've seen. Can't afford to be like that in final. Arsenal will get their own opportunities. If they go in as PL champions it's a 50/50 game for me.

Another significant night tomorrow night for the gunners. If Crystal Palace win that's 3 gimmie points in the run in for Arteta. Plus City up first on Saturday against Brentford. Rodri hasn't trained yet so unlikely to feature at this stage. Fail to win that game and it will have been some week for the North Londoners.

PSG are awesome but fundamentally present the bigger chance for Arsenal to win, agree with a few of the points above

- up against the best defence in Europe
- will give up chances themselves
- they don't have Donnarumma who produced miracles to see them through against Villa and Arsenal last year
- have shot the lights out lately and last year therefore go in as favourites
- that level is unsustainable, they're due a dip while Arsenal are quietly on the rise
- Arsenal owe them for last year

Has a feel of Barca dream team vs Capello's Milan 1994 ... must have a look at the handicap odds, Arsenal minus 3

Look-Up!

Agree with all that but I feel Arsenal really need to win the league to go in with the right frame of mind. PSG have a serious press. If you go in with fear against them and play not to lose, they will smother you.

Arsenal have come up against 3 teams in the knockouts that any decent Premier League team would beat. If Liverpool had got that draw you'd have fancied them to make a final despite their mixed form all season. It was the dream draw for them. Arsenal are a very good side and they have a decent chance in the final based on the way they set up. An early goal for PSG would be the nightmare scenario for them.

League title will be won. Playing West Ham,Burnley who will be in championship next season and Crystal Palace who will play a 2nd string team as they'll have full focus on the conference league final a few days later.

Look-Up!

Rodri not training today so unlikely to feature at the weekend. Dias and Gvardiol back training apparently. Brentford result tomorrow could be huge for Arsenal. City fail to win and it means Arsenal can lift the PL trophy at home against Burnley on the Monday night, 2 weeks before CL final. That would be the ideal scenario, get the celebrations with the fans out of the way, a couple of days on a high and expel all that emotional tension but still have plenty of time to calm down and be perfectly refreshed for the big final. Of course worst case scenario never too far away either where Arteta is involved!

The trajectory is that the League will be wrapped up sooner than anticipated.
