Disappointing but not unexpected.
Meanwhile Michael Murphy, Conor Lane......
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

Its actually a disgraceful decision and one of many Brendan Cawley has made against Roscommon. But sure we're the good boys who will take our medicine. I was there and only thing Daire was guilty of was showing the back a clean pair of heels and kicking points from all angles, who then tackled him off the ball and Daire only brushed him away. In fact practically every commentator has said the same.

They're tightening down on the appeals process big time. Ger Brennan's ban is also a complete farce in that he can't even take training. It used to be bad the other way where everyone would get off on appeal but looks like they're swinging too far the other way now

Blowitupref

Would like to hear or read the report as to why that was deemed a red card offence? video evidence I don't even think should be a yellow nevermind a red.

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

twohands!!!

Category III Infractions

"5.17 To strike or to attempt to strike an opponent with arm, elbow, hand or knee with minimal force."

After seeing the footage (especially the sideline footage) I'm actually surprised Roscommon bothered to appeal this. Unless there was some sort of procedural error, there wasn't a hope in hell this was going to be over-turned.

Maroon Manc

Thought they'd take it to the DRA, suppose they still can.

Its a farce of a decision.

In fairness its not Brendan Cawley to blame her, who was the linesman? He could easily hold his hands up and admit he's made a mistake after reviewing the evidence.

You need another look at the footage then as it was pushing his marker out of the way something that's regularly done in games than a strike or to attempt to strike an opponent.

Christopher Ryan from Galway. And they should take it to the DRA now.

Christopher Ryan no surprise so.
Sent two players from my club off in the first half of a club championship game a few years back in separate incidents. Both decisions overturned on video evidence as there was nothing in either incident.
He's a liability

Appeal being heard tonight apparently
"Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall."

Is that 5 players from the Gaeltacht region starting for Galway?

Tubberman

Not too sure if Bearna could be considered Gaeltacht from what I know of it, but 4 is decent representation, it used to be mainly north Galway

mouview

Bearna is most certainly Gaeltacht. Add in Sean Kelly, Fitzgerald and Barrett off the bench also. To up the quota even further, you could include Flaherty and Comer, as there are areas of Claregalway and Annaghdown also considered as Gaeltacht. Paul Conroy often does analysis for TG4.
