Is that like the Meath/Cavan Breffni Park stat?? Meath hadn't beaten Cavan in Breffni since 1965.. in reality they only played in Breffni four times since '65 and one of them was a draw.

Unfortunately, that 1997 win is the last time Cavan beat Tyrone at senior level in league or championship, and we've suffered plenty of humiliations a long the way too, despite beating some teams that themselves could beat Tyrone regularly in the same era. The Cavan mental baggage when facing Tyrone is bordering on the farcical at this stage, in the modern era when there's all sorts of gurus and psychologists it really (pardon the pun) boggles the mind how we routinely get our arses red-handed to us. Our inability to press on and deliver a knockout blow in championship Breffni a few years back, after clawing back a huge deficit against one of the worst-prepared Tyrone championship sides in living memory, is exhibit A here - when the winning line beckoned, Cavan froze.

Do Cavan take any solace in pushin Cork and Meath so close or, as I'd see it, it's a total sickener.

Offaly fairly gave up against Kildare and have lost too many bodies and I think they will drop. They have to play Derry, Tyrone and Meath yet!

I just can't see Tyrone not getting their act together. Then Cavan, Kildare and Louth can go either way in terms of table position.

Derry will beat Kildare and I worry about our midfield mobility in that one. But we are much fitter than we've been in years and we are still missing a lot of lads.

I think Cavan will be sickened surely, yes, but not half enough - the other thing is there'll be too much solace also taken. Sure didn't we do well, weren't we competitive, with a bit more luck we'd have won, the ref was against us...we have no shortage of moral victories and excuses down the decades and plenty of security blankets to fall back on. That's why we struggle to truly move the needle despite having resources much better than many other counties.

Our level of performance has probably been a little better than Tyrone going into the next game so ordinarily you'd have to say we've a chance, but it's still too early in McCabe's resign for him to have addressed the above issues. You don't clean that stuff up overnight.

Could be the first ever meeting of London v Tyrone in the Tailteann later this season.

That would make iit an interesting year for the GAA statistician community in Tyrone.

Pretty sure Cavan haven't beaten Tyrone in the league since 1997. Was at that game in O'Neill Park, Cavan got a late winner and went on to win the Ulster Championship. If Cavan somehow manage a win this time around then Tyrone v London could not be subsequently ruled out.

Won a McKenna Cup game vs them in 2017 I think? But yeah no League or Championship since 1997 (few draws though).

So far In this year's league 8 by my count (Harry O'Neill,Ryan Burke,James Harris,Ryan Sinkey,Callum Bolton,Eoin Cully,Brendan Gibbons,Darragh Swords)  U20 All-Ireland winners or runners up in 2022/23 has featured.  Another two are injured currently Colm Dalton and James Mcgrath

Then add in Jack Robinson , Jimmy Hyland , Darragh Kirwan, Neil Flynn, Ben McCormack have to return it's a good panel getting built,  should fitness and organisation be done right and it should be under manager Brian Flanagan and coaches Aidan O'Rourke,Davy Burke then no reason why Kildare in years can't become more consistent move upwards.
