The history of this forum shows lads only post when they want to have a moan

That comment is very offensive to the many genuine Laois supporters on this forum who faithfully followed Laos teams down the years. In the main the posts on this forum are insightful and the posters have Laois's interests at heart.

I wasn't able to make the game last Saturday but listened to Midlands Radio 3 commentary. What a heartwarming result.

It's not wrong though. Read back. When times are bad the kickings come. When the results are good, there's the tumbleweed.

It's why players shouldn't pay a blind bit of notice to shit posted online anonymously by arseholes like us, myself included. Listen to the lads who talk to your face, and your family.

They're the ones who matter.

You should address your criticism to the specific post(s) and poster(s) same as you might talk to their face(s).

Your gloating on the previous page was fairly juvenile - Offaly are a great sporting county with a record to be envied.

They are indeed but we should never worship at their altar as some are prone to do.

Next time the posters come in to give everyone and sundry a kicking I'll highlight them for you if you so wish but I'm not one for digging up old posts unnecessarily

The Boy Wonder

Enough of this nonsense - this is a Laois Senior Footballers 2026 thread and those who post here are genuine supporters who are 100% behind Justin McNulty and the panel.

Here's hoping they continue with the same attitude and fight and do the county proud again next Sunday.

I admire your optimism and I am an optimistic fella myself but you'd be foolish to believe 100% of the posters here are behind Justin. There's a lot of sharp axes looking for grinding sadly in our county.

By the way, we are incredibly lucky to have a mam of Justin's integrity and honour involved. Considering what he picked up from, he has done massively well and our young footballers are very lucky to have him managing them, alongside Ross and D of course.

The PRO

Great win on Saturday. Very strong and mobile in the "middle third". Impressed with Burke and Tyrrell particularly. Two lads who are new to the team and have added so much. Evan was excellent. What would we give for Mark Barry up beside him?!
Offaly were woeful though. Should be a lot tougher next Saturday night!

Don't see any point lamenting the lads who choose not to be there. Applaud the lads who sacrifice to be there.

Same as it ever was, it is human nature. That is why news papers and internet algorithms get us enraged to get us posting and keep us engaged. Unfortunately we get more animated over a loss that an win at times. So you would have more posts over Laois minors getting hammered by Meath rather than our Senior team beating Offaly as a result as people will feel anger at Laois players getting such a beating.

It's just noise though, best to ignore it. It won't help them beat Kildare.

Best of luck to Laois Sunday. The players deserve all the support they can get.
It will be a tough assignment over there but with a bit of luck you never know .
Fingelton seemingly doubtful which would be a big loss .
Can't see  that team named starting .

Anyone at the game? Was listening to commentary today on 103, sounded like Laois gave it their all but Kildare were able to hold them at arms length down the home straight.

Blueforever

Was in Newbridge Sunday and Carlow Sat evening footballers excellent first half lost midfield battle second half ans lost there way Roche kicked out over sideline 3 time in a row second half scores got from each one lot of Kildare scores came from easy turnovers Kildare transition much quicker than ours short about 4 quality players to compete with big teams and looking at underage results don't know where we will find them.Carlow Saturday evening was dreadful no plan get ball and lash it usually to Carlow man Picky Maher made a big difference when introduced and hauled them level but centre of defence wide opened and Carlow went through it at will hard to see them make the Joe mcDonagh final

Sideline12

The players are doing their best.
But we're just a average div.3 side.
We lack size and physicality.
And we may just accept it.

You could say Westmeath are just an average Div 3 side also. Laois beat them by 9 points in the league but yesterday Westmeath reached the Leinster semi final by beating Meath. But things are clearly been done well in the county as their minors and U-20s beat the Dubs over the past month. We sent our minors out to be slaughtered by Meath.

Laois Rising

Westmeath still had a decent league campaign. They didn't bring any real intensity to that league game and Laois went at them from the off. Westmeath are a far better team than Laois and results over last few years show that.

Game went as many predicted. Midfield was going to be a concern and once Kildare gained a foothold there they were always likely to win the game. I though Laois gave a committed performance and you cannot fault them for lack of effort. Stuck with Kildare in the first half and didn't lie down when the game was going away from them. Had that goal chance went in near the end would have made for a right finish. As previous poster noted, we don't have too many top quality players. If they can show that level of effort and commitment in Tailteann Cup there is no reason we cannot win it.

Laois Rising

Has Down returning to the Tailteann Cup thrown a spanner into the works! Hard to know how they will approach the competition. You would imagine that once they regroup they will put the work in to win the Tailteann Cup and ensure Sam Maguire football for next year.
