Everything they do is  to keep their jobs.

Last year, Starmer stopped winter fuel payments.  Months later , he reinstated it.  All because he seen  the writing on the wall after poor  council election results .  And  nothing to do with the  country's finances .

Parasitic b@stards, every  one of them.

I am glad to report that I actually managed to obtain my 1st ever Winter Fuel Allowance payment just last week [well, half of it, as it had to be split in two between me & my better half, apparently] & I still possess my senior bus pass. I am looking forward to my £10 Christmas bonus payment now. I also can't overlook the fact that the ISA allowance for the over 65s stayed at the £20K annual level too. I say "Huzzah" for our Labour government & may god bless Sir Keir & Rachel for all their efforts over the past 18 months, or so. As long as the Russians/Chinese/North Koreans don't invade, everything is looking very rosy indeed.

Can you explain the  benefits of the ISA?

Is it a  way to  hide some savings away from  government eyes and their tax collectors or what?    ;)

Never fully understood it

Can invest 20k (dropping to 12k) per year into a savings account and the interest earned is tax free.

It's the same playbook everywhere. Zara Sultana's new crowd with Corbyn is no different.

Bizarre to use this as an attack on Sultana and Corbyn. What is it you hate about the left so much?

Had forgotten about you tbh.

There's nothing bizarre about it. Fur coat, no knickers.

It's a question but as usual you make a lot of noise but little sense.

Is there anything of substance about your attack on Sultana or Corbyn or did you just decide to attack the left because the centre right have being shown up to be utterly hapless?

If you can only go glib rather than answer the question then please spare us.

You get the difference between an online discussion board and, for example, a court of laws, yes?

Actually, I know you do. You love ignoring questions anyone has for you when you post falsehood after falsehood.

I hope you can find some joy somewhere in life. Maybe try getting offline every now and again.

I've a very healthy offline whereas you seem to spend an unhealthy amount of time here trying to troll people with your nonsense.

It's clear you've a very sad life and are incapable of having an adult discussion. I'll leave you to keep on blaming everything on the left.

As outlined, you can squirrel away £20K a year into a cash ISA & you will pay no tax on the interest. However, you can also put your money elsewhere into a non ISA product & as long as you don't earn more than £1,000 in interest, it's non-taxable up to that level too. So, you need to shop around & make a call on where you want to invest.

It's difficult to 'hide' savings away within the banking system lol, as the banks all report interest payments to HMRC, as I found out recently, when HMRC came looking a bit of money from me.

Munchie

I once had nearly 210 quid in it, feck mortgages, kids, cars and not claiming benefits.

Can you take it outta the bank and 'store' it somewhere?

I know someone's parents who have a few quid in the bank but want to give it away or take it out without drawing attention from the likes of HMRC

What can parents gift to their kids?

Lots of things you can do. The state is insatiable.

Tax revolts are almost impossible now in any case, as they garnish wages and almost everything is electronic.

Cash isn't.

For example, a Painter and decorator doesn't declare a few   jobs , remains under the tax threshold.  Pays less than if he  declared all.  In a cashless society, impossible to do .

Of course I wouldn't  advocate such a thing  ;)

But  considering the fall out from the  budget,  the tax thresholds etc.... would you blame people who can,  for resorting to such ?

But ok for me to pay the tax and get hammered? Ok where do we stop turning a blind eye? Drink driving? Claiming benefits that we are not entitled to?

"Benefit fraud in Northern Ireland rises to £233m, says minister".

Clearly there's more than a blind eye being turned towards it + there's over £119m in unpaid rates & whatever else goes on.

Instead of going to the Brits & asking for more money, every single time, maybe they could put their own house in order, for a change.

Many of us are  getting hammered.  Because there's nothing  we can do about it.  Jimmy the painter, can though. For now. And as I said,  do you blame him?

Not that I would  advocate such a thing though, as I said.

Is the unpaid rates figures part of the benefit fraud £233?

2 different issues, as far as I know, so there's £350 millions for starters, either being shelled out fraudulently in benefits, or not being collected by the LPA.

And they have the barefaced cheek to propose taking the 4% discount away from those who pay their rates off in full @ the start of the financial year, instead of chasing those f**kers who won't pay a penny.
