Some Croke Park beurocrat wanted to reduce the number of fixtures on the fixture master plan by doing away with the AI Junior and Senior club quarter finals

Previously

London senior winners would play a senior provincial winner on rotation

All Britain junior winners would play a junior provincial winner on rotation

It was decided that the London senior winners would enter Connacht proper as London is sort of 'twinned' with Connacht

And the AB junior winners would enter the Ulster junior championship proper similar to above.

There was some consternation that the AB junior winners would have to enter and win Ulster to reach an AI semi final so it was decided to retain the AI quarter final, but the AB winners would only play against Ulster winner (no rotation) and theyd rebrand it a 'twinning final'* which ironically remains on the master fixture list if I remember correctly

* yes twinning Ulster with the Brits because there is a lot of partnership between Ulster GAA and Britain GAA given the various jurisdiction overlap specifically with respect to child safeguarding and the like

A hot load of nonsense, the 2 quarter finals should have stayed as it was on rotation, was there a twinning cup handed out last night? I think not.

Just a mad overthink from someone a right few years ago, ironically the pressure was coming from Munster as the Kerry reps were bored of having to travel to Britain once every 4 years to hockey a junior team in December

Sounds like Tara were unlucky last night, an outstanding team filled with local talent, slightly bigger parish than Clogher when you think of it 😉 maybe Clogher were the plucky underdogs 🤷�♂️

Yeah they enter Leinster Junior and have done for last few years at least.

Leinster already have enough teams but id imagine it's for logistical reasons keeping them as close to Dublin airport as possible.
