Alot of disrespect on this forum by the looks of it towards the Cavan champions.

Think they were 5/1 or so with bookies too.

To beat a seasoned Tyrone senior side in Clonoe who shouldn't be intermediate by right is massive.

A team that can finish 4th in Division 1 shouldn't be Intermediate either.

marty34

Tyrone should just stick to junior football.

Duine Inteacht Eile

Better team won it. Dominated the middle.

They weren't good enough to win intermediate in the previous years.

Have to gain senior status on merit. But that's not what you want to hear.

Any team playing Division 1 shouldn't be playing intermediate.

Look-Up!

Fair play Cuchulainns. Brilliant to see a proper intermediate club progress at this grade. Would have been a travesty if cheating by Tyrone CB had paid off. Senior clubs should not be in this competition but they prevailed anyway against the massive odds.

Well said.

ClubScene13

What reason would they not be an intermediate club I'd love to hear after being relegated twice in 3 years?

Well done Cuchullains be interested to see how they get on in final, mightn't be far away

Tyrone has probably one of the stronger leagues in Ulster, so their intermediate winners will always be strong, but they'll be intermediate on merit. Clonoe have yo-yoed between senior and intermediate. Don't know how that constitutes cheating. Cavan just send Division 1 teams to compete in the Ulster series. Was it last year or the year before all three teams came from Division 1? Diabolical. Here's hoping Carrickmacross, the only genuine intermediate club left, beat the other Division 1 club remaining in the intermediate series and go on and win the final.

Didn't realise it was the Ulster Club League.

But if a team isn't good enough to win an intermediate championship how are they not an intermediate team on merit?

Championship football is the true arbitrator of any team and Cuchullains have proved not good enough to win it in recent years.

Clonoe on the other hand have showed they are good enough to compete with the best in the country (Errigal Ciaran) last year on the biggest stage and getting to a Senior semi final in the year or two previous.

We can either accept here that counties do things differently or we can poke holes in different counties systems which is a very easy thing to do to suit our own arguments.

The reality is it produced a very competitive game of football today nonetheless.
