No real standout side in the Armagh IFC, St Paul's are perennially at the business end but can never get over the line. They've already lost to Grange in the groups but will still fancy their chances, Shane's, Sarsfield's & Grange are undefeated so far. Sarsfield's would be my pick, Grange still have to play Clann Éireann II tonight in the last QF which is by no means a forgone conclusion.

Junior semis are:
Clonmore v Corringshego
An Port Mór v Middletown

Probably looking at a Clonmore/APM final. APM have won the league and reached the final last year so you'd have to fancy them with the momentum they've carried through so far. Clonmore are probably just a level above Corringshego and would expect to win that tie.

DownFanatic

Two of the favourites for the IFC in Down have been knocked out at the QF stages, Rostrevor and Longstone. Of the five teams remaining, three are Div 3 sides and two are lower end Div 2 sides. It's wide open though.

Our JFC reps last year, Dromara, were the strongest we had in awhile but they still couldn't get by the first hurdle in Ulster. This year's JFC wasn't as strong and again an open field with any of the teams left in it capable of winning it.

Armagh IFC semis

Grange v Sarsfields Sat 4th Oct 6.15pm
St Paul's v Shane O'Neill's Sun 5th Oct 5.15pm

Grange finished mid table in Division 2B (28th overall in the league system), Sarsfields 2nd in 2A (18th), St Paul's 3rd (19th) and Shane's got relegated at second bottom of 2A (23rd). League positions will have very little bearing, nothing between the sides.

Grange would be a dogged enough championship team and Rafferty gives that extra boost as do Murnin and McCabe to their teams 4 even enough teams, would have Shanes the weakest but not by much, any of them could win it on their day.

Tyrone getting interesting Clonoe walking it to the final against pure scrap from R1 to SF. Other Semi Final is tight but rumours are rife that Conor McKenna is home from Oz and lining out at the weekend.... Bad news for Moy and Clonoe and the rest of Ulster!

Armagh IFC semifinals

Grange 1-8 Sarsfield's 2-17
St Paul's 2-18 Shane O'Neill's 3-14

The first semi last night was a bit of a facile victory for Sarsfield's after a much anticipated encounter but St Paul's v Shane's which just finished was a clinker. Plenty of drama, goals and controversy. Both teams guilty of poor shooting in front of goal.

St Paul's are hardworking and well-drilled but I have Sarsfield's as warm favourites for the final.

Tyrone Junior cancelled this eeekend refused for:

Monday Clogher v Strabane
Tuesday Cookstown v Drumragh

Cookstown fancy themselves to win the all Ireland and their manager touting them to be senior contenders in 2 years. So this should be a procession to the trophy presentation.

Although Drumragh beat them in the league.

Andrew Murnin has that little bit extra quality that Sarsfields just don't have, supporting cast is decent without being amazing so that game could go either way. Didn't see the Grange gameC thought they would have been alot better.

While they are favourites there is nothing straight forward for them against Drumragh or Clogher. So far from a procession to the trophy presentation.
Cookstown have also been relegated 3 times in the last 7 years from Intermediate and haven't been in Senior football since 2014. So they have a long way to go yet before talking about Senior Football. They do have loads of potential in that team coming through.

True but Sarsfield's are probably stronger overall and less reliant on individuals, and will be able to bring on players from the bench. St Paul's play good direct football but they'll not dominate Sarsfield's in the air like they did at times with Shane's and won't have the same panel depth. That said it's still very much a 50/50 and St Paul's are due a win!

St Pauls definitely abit of luck in a final, think they were tanked in 2 finals and in the other 2 were beat with last gasp scores. Should be a good final.
