Mea Culpa... was Fermanagh and Antrim boys saw Loughmacrory defeat as opportunity to slag off Tyrone club football. I took the bait. I shouldn't have. Is my last comment on the matter.

Why is Glen and Slaughtneil being mentioned, one looked like roadkill against Magherafelt and the other beaten by the defending champions

That was my thoughts too. Any of the other top sides in Ulster or even Derry would have put them away in the first half. Newbridge very talented but still very naïve at times. Understandable given the youth in the team.

Lads, have a word with yourselves. 2nd run into Ulster, what would be the average age of this Newbridge front 6? Some ballers the pair of ye
A very young front  6 is right  Oisin Doherty 19,Eamon Young 18 ,Sean Young &Paddy McMullan 20, Mark Doc 22,Conor McAteer 24 , (another 4 of starting team under the age of 24 as well )

Is that lad Mc Mullan the goalie from last year Newbridge Exile?

Or am I mistaken? I see Rocks is in goals this year.

Plenty of youth in that team. A few more will get the Derry call up I'm sure but a great age profile for a club who've already won 2 Derry championships in a row. Mc Grogan has been a valuable asset at half-back after being out all last year.

I'm surprised that Kevin Brady wasn't mentiond more in the Antrim job. A quiet but shrewd operator. Probably wants to stay and see how Ulster goes this year - maybe even wants the Derry 3 in a row.

Newbridge are a credit to any club. Probably didn't play much 'A' grade football in the underage set up but hve brought through these lads very well. You, Newbridge Exile, probably know more re: underage  this past 6 years.

When you think of the 'big' clubs around them in south Derry and how competitive the GAA is there, then Newbridge have done fantastic to get to where they're at.

Gribbin was the goalie last year. McMullan wore 6 last year.

Just on the game, thought Mark McGrogan did a brilliant job on Darragh McMullen.

Yeah one of the quietest games Darraghs had since coming through, great lad and obviously wild young yet but been excellent for club and county all year, was very well marshalled today.

Lost count of the amount of times Madden slipped, fumbled or give possession away cheaply, that and their shooting cost them big time.

I would agree Mark did a great job on McMullan (not bad for someone who played all his career as a forward up until a couple of years ago )

Posted earlier but didn't send. That's a serious age profile for a forward line. Really like the look of Eamon Young.

Only gripe is too many mcgrogans, still trying to work out who is who 😜

SouthOfThe Bann

A word with myself about what exactly?

With the klep the hurler on the ditch posted and you agreed with. Manys a game in Ulster Glen and Slaughtneil scrapped by by a point or 2. Off the top of my head I can only remember Glen winning by any kind of margin, against Scotstown.
Newbridge have a very young forward unit that are learning their senior club trade game by game. They play the current Armagh champs in only their 3rd Ulster club game (having been beat by the '24 Armagh champs last year). Kilcoo last night against a team who had just won their 1st senior, what was it, 2 in it at h/t? But.....
