If anything the scoreline flattered Clann Éireann. Darragh McMullan is a joy to watch.

Will be good to see a new name on the cup this year. Neither Madden or Cullyhanna have won it before

Well done Madden, fully deserved winners, they hit their usual bagful of wides but most importantly got over the line. A seriously fit, organised and well coached team. I do think their shooting (especially in the AG) is a regular issue tbh.

So just to clarify then, CE won't be winning Ulster, no?

Not unless the ladies do. Fair shock losing to Madden but McCambridge a huge loss.

If Cross beat Cullyhanna I fancy them to have enough for Madden, Cross/Cullyhanna game tough to call.

This is captain hindsight obviously but bigging up Clann Eireann for Ulster on the basis of running Errigal tight last year was futile. Everyone ran Errigal close last year from Round 1 Tyrone to Croke Park apart from Cargin

In fairness. Everyone bigs up Errigal and/or whoever wins the Tyrone championship. The only people who believed the hype around CE was the players themselves. Even without McCambridge they've a wealth of talent that most clubs would love, a second string that reached two consecutive Intermediate semifinals.

Fair play to Madden though, I hope they go on and win the final. They have the measure of whoever wins the other semi, but my fear is the occasion may possibly get to them.

Wasn't on the basis that they ran Errigal close that I fancied them for Ulster, serious quality and depth in that squad but didn't turn up at all last night so well done to Madden. Unlikely that any of the 3 do much in Ulster, Cullyhanna maybe with their recent experience at intermediate, although Cross are Cross and can never be written off. Will be a cracker this evening.

Dan McCarthy was an understated loss also their best forward during the league.

Cullyhanna would need improve immeasurably to beat Cross tonight. From their intermediate win have lost Casey and a few older players a year older. They didn't seem like a team that believed they could beat cross last year when they where there for the taking.
