Quote from: SouthOfThe Bann on September 22, 2025, 12:11:43 PMThere are two division 3 teams in the Junior final this year though so don't expect much from Ulster campaign his year haha.
Don't worry a quick look at the Ulster IFC/JFC thread shows Donegal and Derry once again cooking the books.
We're doing the opposite by persisting with 16 teams in the senior championship.
Happy to be proven wrong but i don't think either our intermediate or junior winners will be overly strong this year in Ulster.
Surely Glenullin will give it a rattle. Twice intermediate winners in the last 4 years and finished comfortably in Division 1.

I remember in 2022 hearing about how Galbally would be up against it vs a strong Glenullin team who had won 2 Derry intermediate titles in a row and had recently been a decent division 1 team. I think Galbally ended up winning by about 20 points scoring 7 goals in the process.

Youd know better than me but maybe glenullin are stronger now than they were back then but if not I couldn't see them getting close to the likes of clonoe or eglish in Tyrone.
I would say Tyrone is the benchmark for football at Intermediate level. I reckon youse have more than 16 "middling" senior standard clubs hence always producing a strong Intermediate winner, and didn't Clonoe take EC to a replay last year when they got relegated? Galbally were unlucky to lose the final that year against a Kerry team and they're masters of cooking the books

Will EC get out of Tyrone and will they march onto a club all Ireland title?
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

If I was a betting man I'd be backing Clann Eireann unless they are caught by Madden or Cross.

Nothing to suggest CE have what it takes to win Ulster yet.

They were very poor and threw away a game they could have won last year while a load of lads on this site cried their lamps out last year.

i think they'll take the learnings from that and be stronger this year.

If they are as good at football as they are at selling tickets, all Ireland incoming.

Tyrone would be the aim. Can't see them winning Ulster never mind an All Ireland. Whoever wins Tyrone will likely meet Kilcoo first round in Ulster so can't see it

They were 3 up on against the team that won Ulster when they lost one of their key men to a red card(that's on him by the way) not sure how you could say they were very poor.

They were also missing a key defender in that game (Ryan Owens). If they get out of Armagh will take a good team to beat them.

I think CE will give Ulster a right rattle. EC should win Tyrone but that's not a gimme. Glen have probably run their race,  Kilcoo you never know but they may not even win Down. CE definitely are the rising team with no AI celebration hangover as they had last year (which probably cost them at least getting to an Ulster final).

Wee Roddy

I like a lot of Tyrone folk don't think EC will win Tyrone. Them and Trillick are a bit ahead of the rest and for me Trillick are just that wee bit more fluent and consistent.

Nowhere near an All Ireland. Last year was their chance. Nothing really went against them and everyone just the right age to make the push. Be lucky to win Tyrone going off that performance against Omagh

trueblue1234

Naw every team that wins the club AI does that. It's just so they can say their toughest game was in the county championship.

Did they blitz through Tyrone last year?

You'd imagine themselves or Trillick will give Ulster a good rattle.
