It's horrific. 40 mins of the two lads patting themselves on the back telling each other how great they are.

If there's one thing Shane Keegan can't resist it's a podcast.
What in the name of god was this expected to achieve?
So much to be done, and someone thinks this is a good use of time.

It's a build up of little things like this that has us miles behind in both codes. What is Keegans actual role?

Ogie

I actually think its good to hear whats actually happening at that level, county board, academy squads, schools etc, otherwise were on here speculating and guessing, whos involved, whats happening etc,

I cant understand how the likes of Laois Today and the Leinster Express stay going without covering more sport in detail around the county, juvenile games, junior, inter, senior league games, championships, county squads, behind the scenes county board and coaching

When we were all growing up we could'nt wait til Wednesday to see did our name make it in the Leinster!!

Laois man

If you listen to the kilkenny podcast it covers everything from junior games up to senior.

redsetanta

Haven't had time to listen to it yet but I can't see how it's a bad thing if they take an hour out of their week to do a podcast.

As Ogie says we're always curious as to how underage squads, schools teams etc are doing and when games are on so I would welcome it if that's the jist of the pod.
The real glory is being knocked to your knees and then coming back. That's real glory. VinceLombardi

I couldn't agree more. Living abroad you could be forgiving for thinking that we don't have any under age structures or teams at all! I never hear about, nor see the scores in an underage match. And the Laois GAA website is a mess.

Is there a reason why these games and squads ain't reported on? Ill be definitely giving the podcast a listen when I have a moment.

My father in law is a Galway man in exile, as he likes to call himself over here. He still gets his tribute every week, and the GAA coverage for all age groups and teams within it is top class.

Haven't listened to it but would this not just give an overview of what is hppening 'behind the scenes' in the county?

I think if every county done this a few times a year, then it'd be a good thing.

Am I missing something?

Most counties do have this. KK run a weekly one as far I know. I'm not sure why lads are coming in so hard against this particular one?

Spiritof1915

Absolute brilliant idea. Gives proper insight and some accountability on what's actually happening in the county. Keegan is very ope to any ideas from anyone that might improve our underage structures

Would he be open to the idea of improving it himself

Don't see the issue with the podcast at all. Gives an outsider like me a flavour of what's being done in terms of development. Laois GAA gets plenty of stick for lack of promotional work so surely this is a step in the right direction?
