Will Iriola be the next Chelsea Manager? Absolute basket case of a club since Abromovich left.

Quote from: Armagh18 on April 21, 2026, 10:35:03 PMChelsea beat and overtaken by Brighton. 6th get Europa I take it? How many for Conference league then?

The baseline is....

Champions League:
1st 2nd 3rd 4th

Europa:
5th and FA Cup Winner

Conference:
Carabao Cup winner

- Man City won Carabao Cup , so that Conference spot goes to the League
- If they win the FA Cup, that Europa Spot goes to the League
- England have "won" the extra Champions League spot

so,

Champions League:
1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th

Europa:
6th and FA Cup Winner (Leeds, Chelsea, Southampton)

Conference:
7th

or, Man City win FA Cup

Champions League:
1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th

Europa:
6th and 7th

Conference:
8th

Then, Europe outcomes...

- If Villa win the Europa League and finish top 4 - nothing changes above
- If Villa win the Europa and finish 5th - then the 6th place Europa Spot becomes a Champions League spot. The Europa spot disappears. 6 English teams in Champions League
- If Forest win the Europa, then they are in Champions League
- If Palace win the Conference, then they are in the Europa. Unlikely to have a knock on impact , as Palace would need to qualify via league also , for the place to move down.

Be some craic trying to manage the Championship and Champions League in one season!

Straight forward enough then! Cheers Shark.

Leicester look like they are in big big trouble.

- £100m in debt with an interest rate of 8%

- Relegated to League One which has huge implications for future earnings

- Players weekly wage is easily topping £900k

- Owners business is in trouble

Former PL Champions and FA Cup Winners, Leicester City were relegated to League 1 last night. They aren't the first former Champion to drop to that level (Blackburn hold that distinction), but their demise has been extraordinary. And it now seems that many of the financial affairs that were somewhat unspoken of will rear their head and will form part of the analysis of the legacy.

12 years has seen them win the PL, the FA Cup, the Championship, played in the ECL, EL and ECL, and at times sit in the Top 3 of the PL. And in that timeframe they have also been relegated three times, and now to L1.

I really hope Spurs do get relegated, odious club, full of their own self importance.

One of the "big 6" looking to go into a European super league, my arse!

I've nothing against Tottenham but  I hope  they go down. Big stadium and all that, and to see how  they bounce back

Then City going down  to the Vauxhall conference would  really shake the PL up a  bit. Well, maybe not.  But  I'd prefer that to happen

It's a tough one, option B is West Ham United and does anyone like them? Plus you'd somewhat miss the whole Spursy thing in the Premier League.

Some stadium for the lower teams to visit! You'd expect them to come straight back up even if they lost some of their bigger players.

I would say if they go down, they will have absolutely no clue as to how to get back up. That is a seriously tough league even in terms of the scheduling of the games its tight going.
