Brigids 8/13
Daingean 6/5

It's Dingle. What's with the Daingean thing?

Would have made Dingle slight favourites based on the weekend myself but it's going to be a tight game.

So it has 2 names

I think there should be a rule that all club names should be in Irish.

Excellent idea.

Years ago, teamsheets all had to be in irish
Is that not still the case?

Think a few boys got off suspensions on misspelt Irish on the refs report of the years lol

Team sheets have Irish names and besides it English names.. most of the text on report is in Irish and it's signed off by ref in Irish
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Yeah, are names not bi-lingual on teamsheets?

But in terms of fixtures etc. I think there should be a rule that all names should be in Irish.

Even on scoreboard, like inter-county.

Most people would know the Irish for their club regardless but it should be used more. A simple thing to do. Plus, to me, it's a lot more interesting in terms of the meaning behind it.

I remember Donal Mc Anallen had a bi-lingual booklet, maybe in conjunction with Ulster GAA, of all the clubs in Ulster. It went through every club, in each county and gave the club name and name of litch in Irish and Englush.

It was a great piece of work. Very detailed by Donal. I'll check for it later on and post up here.

Is this Kerry team in the Junior final another Division 1 club side?

Quote from: Jerome on January 11, 2026, 09:10:09 AMThe team from Kerry that are playing in the junior final are playing Division 1 league. How's that fair. Kerry at it again.
And the team from Kerry that are playing in the senior final next week were in Division 2. Na Gaeil are senior and couldn't get promoted from Division 3, with 3 games to go they were in relegation trouble.

League is more or less irrelevant in Kerry, no county players, whether that be senior or underage, available for most of it so any club like Ballymac that don't have any are at a big advantage. Add in the others that are away in college or have moved away and only travel back for championship, particularly in South and West Kerry, and there's very little that can be read into league form.

Senior championship, club championships and district championships all far more important.

Ciaran Bogue the best player on the pitch here by a mile.

I've said it before, you play div 1 and hold your own, you are not a junior level club.. Nowhere near it

Jerome, to answer your question, yes Kerry Div 1

Tribesmen

Yes Bogue looks a handy player. Is he on the county panel?

thebigfullforward

Why did Clogher get the free there? Looked like both teams breached. Not a fan of that anyway neither player was affecting the game

I think he may have got a call up for this season. He was centre forward on the u20 team that won the all Ireland in 2021.

This is the weakest Kerry Junior Champions in a long time. Kicked several wides, 2 breaches and the No. 8 looks gassed already, barely got his last free over the bar. It's there for Clogher if they want it.

They were relegated with 1 win from 11 games so hardly held their own. Only 4 of the clubs in Division 1 last year were senior so they were effectively being beaten every week by intermediate clubs.

'22 final wasn't it against Kildare? Really good player but probably have an overload of players in the forward position all around the same ability at the moment

70 odd clubs in Kerry, you play Div 1 you are not junior grade by any measurement

Tatler Jack

Clogher lads very poor at kicking the ball.
