Best team won

Absolutely but some of it was just downright poor. Think it was Maguire who went for one off the right from near enough the endline and then about 30 seconds later McCarron went for an awful one off the outside of the boot.

twohands!!!

The thing is Scotstown's shooting was fine enough for most of the match but down the stretch was when it really went off the rails.

Well done St bridges. Very disciplined defending was the key and no options given to beggan today. Referee very good.

Captain Obvious

Scotstown 2nd top scorer coming into this game was Beggan and once he was held to 1 point it was always going to be uphill challenge for the Monaghan men.  Best team won and should be a decent All-Ireland final.

Not referee union here but he was very good for most of the game
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Was Shane Carey who missed chanced before McCarron.

Missed a clear cut penalty in the first few mins  :o

Rossfan

Well done Brids, nervy enough at the end, 2 saved on line but deserved win in the end.
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

Conor McCarthy couldn't get into game when introduced. Plenty wasn't fully fit.

You're right. Maguire had ballooned a handy enough one wide on the run off his wide a couple of minutes before. Turned down a man coming inside off his shoulder to do so as well.

"Don't concede frees outside the arc, that was the key to it".

Main Street

Deserved win for St Brigids, they play a very tidy and intelligent game.

Well done to Naomh Bríd and hard luck to An Bhoth. It was a nervy finish alright but overall the Kiltoom men had more scoring options even with Ben O'Carroll well marked all day. It was also some discipline not to give Beggan a 2-point free all day. Overall second half was erratic and early injury to Mark Daly didn't help Carroll's kick out options, but it's an ongoing weakness. Some save by Trundle and the Monaghan men will regret missed goal chances in particular. Brigids will meet a more clinical forward line in Dingle. Should make for a great final. Won't help our chances of surviving Div 1 but has given new manager chance to try our new lads in FBD league.

Substandard

A very good game, was worried beforehand that leaking goals and Beggan 2 pointers could push the game out of reach, but they defended really well.  In the last couple of games, they've had a different match-winner pop up- Hand the last day, McGrath today.  Really thought Stack was in trouble with that landing that time.
