What a game of football. Glad it wasnt decided on penalties.
Brigids will be wondering how they lost that. Missed alot of chances.

Milltown Row2

Was immense and I wouldn't say that for many games of football..

Brid's probably should have controlled things better late on but their honesty in going forward let them down..
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

skeog

Yeah they didnt have the killer instinct missed so many chances.Long way back despite their youthful profile.

Very unfair, Dingle are a Div 2 team in Kerry. They should be in the intermediate championship.

Dingle 3 from 4 2-pointers.
Brigid's 2 from 8 2-pointers.
Gavin gives another All-Ireland to Kerry.

Sportacus

Two teams coached to go at it, both a credit to themselves.  Stark contrast from the Intermediate Final dross.  The ref had a very big impact on the outcome in last few minutes.

What are you on about. The league is completely separate and irrelevant to championship.
It's played without county players which Dingle have several of and obviously Mark O'Connor also.

He had a huge impact throughout. Umpires and linesmen too. A day to forget on that front.

Quote from: greatpoint on January 18, 2026, 05:51:56 PMHow did the ref go back for a free at the end while the point from the previous passage of play still stood? Surely it's one or the other?

Geaney didn't even attempt to score the free and according to the scoreboard the game ended level.

St. Brigids breached the 3 player rule from the kickout after the point was scored. Was a different passage of play.

Was smart thinking by Geaney. Avoided the 1% chance of hitting the post and Brigids going up the field.
Same happened in the Championship, Meath I believe, a free after the hooter when leading and went for the score.

If that's the case then given that the ref clearly wasn't going to let the game continue past the kickout why even bother with the free?

Why was the point taken off the scoreboard?

Scoreboard keeper was probably as confused as many were to the refs decision to award a freekick in those circumstances.

I thought the 3 man breech was now only if it was very obivous nit accidential and affecting play? It didnt really show a replay of what excately or extend of the breech.

I seen the point taken  off the scoreboard, then Geaney kick the free wide. And I  thought wtf is he at??

Then Dingle starting celebrating, and  I thought why are  they celebrating a draw??

I should have  paid more attention in Irish class

Rossfan

Hard one for Brigids to stomach.
Missed opportunities cost them again.
Easy to say sitting in the Cusack Stand ...but they should have closed it out in the latter stages.
Then again after 80+ minutes of action lads would be fairly weary.
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

Mark O'Connor shouldn't be playing in my opinion, he is a professional footballer playing against amateurs, Gaelic football is supposed to be an amateur sport.
Also he is a registered player with another team , are you allowed to play for two teams now ?
