Quote from: didlyi on July 17, 2025, 01:54:41 PMThe lead up to this match is sounding very similar to 2024 when Cork were being tipped to win resoundingly. Hmmm

Clare had the measure of Cork in championship games leading up to that game, it was always a 50/50 game whereas this year Cork have handed out some big beatings to Tipp already.

This year I can understand the giddiness of the Cork fans, but they'd no real right to be so confident last year, but that's Corkness for you.

By beating Limerick in the semi-final last year, a lot of Cork fans thought that was the real final and only had to show up in the final to win.

Tipp had a man sent off before throw in the round Robin match. The result doesn't count.

It was 15 v 15 in the league final a few weeks earlier and that was a bit of a rout..

Tipp have improved a lot since.

Donal O'g doing his Kevin Cashman impression before the big game on Sunday.

@premierview will know who I'm talking about.

Always thought Cashman was a fantastic writer on hurling (the huge soft spot that he had for Antrim had nothing whatsoever to do with forming that opinion . . . )

Another season down, hurling is food for the soul, drink for the imagination, rhythm for the dance. Bain taitneamh as on Sunday.

In San Sebastián and struggling to find pub that's going the game! Any suggestions?

Some man for rolling in a bit of Greek or Roman mythology into his articles was our Kevin.

In a way Cork did the dirty work for Clare.  Reminded me of the football SF ambush of 2014.  Donegal upset Dublin then naturally let down against Kerry.

Dublin played Limerick a man down for more than a half.  They certainly were not embarrassed.  Tipp having been routed the past three meetings by Cork does matter.  Psychologically they'll be on thin ice Sunday.  The potential for an early KO can't be disregarded.

Happens a fair bit when a team takes out the favourites in the semi and then for whatever reason can't get to those levels again the next day.

Dun Eile

Tipp played their final against Kilkenny. Cork could probably win by 10-15 points.
