SpeculativeEffort

Quote from: MoregroundhurlingI thought the referee did a good job. A litle whistle happy in the early part of the 2nd half but it was a tough, honest game and he had a part to play in that. With regard to his demeanor, it's not easy stand in the middle of a pitch and take abuse for 60 minutes without giving a bit back. Look at the top referees in any sport, that's the way you kind of have to be.

I can't agree with this at all. An arrogant approach by referees doesn't help anyone. It probably just guarantees the ref more abuse, frustrates genuine players and creates even more negativity around the individual. Communication is what is needed. Which top referees in any sport give a bit of abuse back? Name one.

Laois man

Big wins for the Harps Ballyfin/Mrath and Castletown in the u20 Cship the weekend. Harps look very strong and will be hard to stop.

Harps always good underage. Mountrath/ Ballyfin would usually be in the 'B', no? I think Ballyfin have a decent contingent this year. I assume Mountmellick are in with Port. as Shamrocks?

Laois man

I think mrath/Ballyfin won the U20 B last year so there up to the A now.

Voice of tReason

I'd be very surprised if The Harps don't win this relatively comfortably.

Laois Rising

Clough Ballacolla were this age cohort winning minor team in 2022 beating the Harps by a point. Harps though have the benefit of two very strong following minor teams and a composition of the best of those three teams together should see them as the strongest side in this competition. Be a massive surprise to see them beaten.

Laois man

2 minor teams that lost finals Harps to win it but Cbolla and Camross could have a say in in aswell.

Did the harps not beat abbeyleix in the 2023 minor final..I remember it being a a classic whenever it was.
Castletown have a great chance in this year's u20. Well balanced and full of minor winners

Laois man

Ye harps beat Aleix same day Aleix were in the senior final.

Pretty sure he's 32. In fairness, he's some talent and proved it when he came on in the county final. Jack Kelly is a bit of a head-scratcher, mind you.

I respectfully disagree.
Jack Kelly is a very talented hurler and crucially, he has genuine pace, is very fit and has a bit of bite about him. I think he'll end up a starter come championship.

Believe Clonad's Fionn Holland is switching from the footballers to the hurlers this year.
