I think Camross will win this final pulling up TBH. It was my first time watching CB play this year, and I have to say, they're a pale shadow of the team that won the 3 in a row and went on that great run in Leinster.

What struck me most about them was how small they are in most areas. They never replaced the physicality of Hyland, Michael McEvoy, Tom Delaney or Borderick.

Camross look extremely well conditioned and strong on every line of the field. RE had no answers for them yesterday and I think it will be the same for CB in the final.

I know Ctown have Dylan Conroy Conor Walsh and young Gaughan travelling. Looking at there team sheet yesterday there was no Joe or Aaron Phelan Evan Cuddy John Gaughan alot of these were injured I believe.

Verbal

Does Darren Maher have to go for the final?
I think he will be targeted. Eddie Dwyer yesterday is a very different prospect to Keyes/Dowling/Ciaran Collier/Darren Drennan

It will take a major change in Ballacolla's performance level to win this one.

I don't know if those named above leave Castletown much worse off than most clubs. Most clubs are short 5 or 6 with travel and injury.

I dont think CB have a choice in the matter, I had a pint with a few of their ex senior men yesterday evening after it and I think injuries are hitting them hard at the minute. Both Lee Cleer and Brian Corby went into the game at 50% and neither made it past half time.

Camoross, as Camroos often do, looked to have timed themselves perfectly this year. I thought the half time score flattered RE yesterday. I was actually shocked at how poor they were. Camross looked in complete control the whole game, they have great physicality throughout the team. It would take an next level perfromance from this CB team to stop them.

Camross have Mossy & Dowling, they can literally beat teams on their own if they're ticking.

C/B will have to shut this down. Conway can possibly handle Mossy, but I'd have questions over Joe Pearson managing Dowling. Jordan Walsh might be capable but leaves them very small in the front 8. Missing Picky big time.

Verbal i don't think Camross Cbolla have many travelling picky is out injured alright

Injuries happen and it is just part of the game. I heard Ryan, Bowe, Dowling all injured for RE heading into yesterday's match. A bruising battle with Limerick champions Doon, ten days ago. Looked very flat yesterday anyway especially upfront and definitely missed Killeen, King and Pearson this year, in my opinion. O'Connell did well on Dowling and held him to one point. He might not be as quiet in the final. No bearing on the result whatsoever, Camross by far the better team in second half, but there is no way Padraic Dunne should have reffed RE and he after leading the charge for Colt-Shanahoe against the PIHC outcome a week or so earlier. Do they have rocks in their heads in there?
First game was very competitive. Ballinakill will be kicking themselves with that chance to win it. CB hanging in there all year but are still there nonetheless. Has the makings of a decent final.

I'd imagine Darren Maher will have a good laugh at this comment and be getting himself primed for battle. He has heard this type of thing many times before and has survived (and thrived) on almost every occasion. Obviously he will run out of road at some stage but I'd say he will do everything he can to not allow you to write his obituary a week before a county final.

Verbal

Is there anything offensive, personal or incorrect in what I have said?

Saying that somebody may have to be dropped is not offensive. Don't claim that it is.
I've no doubt Darren Maher will be discussed in Camross over the next 10 days.

Could Darren Maher turn around and hurl well next week? Of course he could.

But Jesus, if you can't express an opinion as mildly as I did there the board should just be closed down.

Did I say anything about it being offensive?

I said he'd have a good laugh at it and use it as motivation, which he very well might.

Can you point to where I said it was offensive or personal?

I think you got offended because everyone didn't jump to agree with your point. 😪

Laois man

Will picky appear for the final??

Verbal

Yes. I was offended because all posters didn't agree with me. That's exactly it

I'd highly doubt Darren Maher is anywhere near an online forum to check out what people think of him.

Do you think Camross will target him?
Edit- I think they will.

Premier intermediate final sat should be close but Rdowney /Errill have a very experienced team might get them over the line. Minor A final Sunday a repeat of last year which was some game. Harps will be hurt after last year and look strong this year. Senior final hard to call camross look the gorm team Will mossy flying. Cbolla lucky to get over the sfinal but they have being there before and know what it's all about. Hard to call it.
