#195
Tonight: Castletown vs Portlaoise
Must win for both teams. Portlaoise can't afford to drop points with Rath/Errill in their last game. New manager bounce for Castletown? With Ballinakill in their last game; they'll feel they have a chance of making a quarter-final.
Draw.

Tomorrow
Bk vs Abbeyleix.
Another tough one to call. Abbeyleix won the League Final meeting and will be buoyed by a great win over RE. But I think a lot of people are sleeping on BK and if Colm Stapleton, Noah Quinlan and PJ Scully play, I think they have a big chance.
BK by 3.

CB vs RE.
I think CB's need is greater given the way the groups are shaping up. Another loss and they'd be hugely vulnerable against The Harps in their last game. RE have more strength in depth and I think a better spread of scorers with CB's reliance on Picky Maher sorely evident.
RE by 4.

Sunday:
Rosenallis vs The Harps.
Make or break for The Harps. Written off by many, a win on Sunday could reignite their aspirations. Rosenallis have been brilliant so far, two brilliant performances in dismantling Camross and destroying Castletown. They are full of pace and power and the bookies have them as favourites.
I'll oppose them and back The Harps by 3.

Camross vs Ballinakill.
Ballinakill should really be on 3 or even 4 points. As it stands, a loss here would likely be fatal. And Camross are coming now fully-loaded and look the team to beat. If Cha plays at 14, and if Ian Shanahan can shackle Mossy, Ballinakill might have a chance but all signs point to a Camross win.
Camross by 6.

Great win tonight for the village

Question is it only the bottom team in each group go into relegation final and fourth teams play in some senior B?

Laois345

Results this weekend so far mean it's all to play for in Group A (I think?) coming into the last group game.

Portlaoise, Ballacolla and Abbeyleix have already lost. Even if Roselis/Ballinakill lose this afternoon, it will come to the final game.

If Rosenalis win, I'll fancy them to top it. It's theoretically possible that Ballinakill could finish top at the end of the day. Although I fancy Camross to win comfortably.

Verbal

I was wrong anyways. It's working very well.

It would be class if the 5 games were played at the same time.

Mountrath
Rathdowney
Colt
Durrow

Abbeyleix, Borris, Castletown etc

Very hard to get stewards I'd imagine.
It would be some finale though!!

Spiritof1915

The new format has worked out extremely well notwithstanding some average games.
The final round of games all have meaning and consequence which is great to see. Anything was better than the last structures.

Like other commentators on here I'd love to see games played in club venues around the county but I heard from the horses mouth that will never happen.

Camross and RE definitely the two championship favs going into the last round of games. It's been a crazy few weeks tho with some big upsets along the way.

Laois man

Last round of games anything could happen Cbolla v Harps both need win. Aleix V Camross. Camross look good will take beating. Rdowney/Errill were good the weekend aswell v plaois. Borris kcotton got a good win the weekend should get them through.

Voice of tReason

I think all 5 teams from Group B will win again the next day.

G@@

Am I right in saying the top 6 across the two groups progress to the knockout stages?
If so,
First and Second are semis
With third V sixth and fourth V fifth making the quarter finals.
Is the season over for 7th and 8th place?
9th and 10th make the relegation battle.

Someone said to me that 7th and 8th will make a relegation semi finals though...

I think top team in each group to to semi final 2nd and 3rd go to finals I could be wrong bottom teams go into relegation final

Ballygowen

1st in Group A & B into semi finals

2 & 3 in Group A paly against each other in 1/4 final, and same with Group B, 2 & £ play each other in 1/4

4 in group A & B go no further, their season over

5 In group A plays 5 in group B in relegation

They changed the relegation aspect as far as I know. 4th play 5th in group A and same in B. Losers obviously play in relegation final while winners play some bullshite shield final

Verbal

Whoever gets relegated will be the best performing team ever relegated in Laois.

It has traditionally been an awful effort to actually get relegated!

Laois man

Might be no relagation a second team could win the Premier intermediate, 😂
