It does befuddle me that a man who initially gained fame as a songwriter has penned some of the laziest lyrics of all tim, even in his best songs.

"And no one heard at all, not even the chair"

"Honey's sweet, but it ain't nothing next to baby's treat"

But he did write some bangers, so I guess that makes him the Noel Gallagher of his day. Maybe even wrote enough good stuff to forgive him for inflicting Sweet Caroline on the world.

1. Forever in Blue Jeans
2. I Am I Said
3. Holly Holy

Can't explain why I like any of these songs so much, but they never leave my playlist.

He should have been  given the cat o' nine tails for  that alone.

Truthsayer

Seen him twice: Croke Park bout 1983 great show..
Landsdowne Road 25 years later... more like karaoke. Great artist tho:
Beautiful Noise
Cracklin Rose
Turn on your Heartlight (ET song) brings back fond memories.

Blowitupref

Music icon with so many hits, over than getting overplayed I don't understand the dislike the for sweet Caroline, wouldn't be in my top three though.

Forever in Blue Jeans
Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon
Play me
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Puckoon

Neil's golden banger generation:

Hello Again
America
Forever in Blue Jeans

He has a couple more recent (last 20 years albums) that carry some great tunes as well. 12 songs and Home before dark both worth a Sunday Morning listen.

Delirious Love
Captain of a Shipwreck
Pretty Amazing Grace

Doesn't seem to have long left, very failed looking in recent video and pictures. What a treasure!

Ronnie

Cracklin Rose
Forever in Blue Jeans
Girl, You'll be a woman soon

Ronnie

Also I missed Simon & Garfunkel:

Homeward Bound
The Only Living Boy in New York
The Sound of Silence

Classics

Orior

Capt Pat

Brother Loves travelling salvation show
Cracklin rosie
Sweet caroline has been tremendously overplayed but still qualifies as one of my top 3.
