I think I only heard  it once . Usually it's everywhere

Was in Galway City last weekend. The Shane MacGowan version was played in the beer tent and in the two pubs I visited afterwards bands covered the song with their own version.

I have found that to be the case this year. A station devoted to christmas songs on free view hasn't played it at all.

I was nonplussed with this song in the past , but  it sounds  great with the Qatar World Cup montage from the BBC

Irish singer Emer Barry's version of O Holy Night  isn't bad, but some of  the best   versions  I've heard were from  Charlotte Church , Hayley Westenra and  Josh Groban's wasn't half bad either

The best I've ever heard was from a young fella at Lisanally Special School Christmas Concert in Armagh a few years ago. Would have drawn tears from a stone.
