That old antisemitic trope... do bit research about him.

bennydorano

Trope yer hole. It's literally renaming a park because of what Israel are currently at, it's nothing to do with the actual person or his actions. its a pathetic, impotent lash out.

So
Following that logic every Stadium and team named after an Irish Republican should be renamed for good

Makes sense

I hope you are not associating the actions of all Jews with what Israel is/has done... it would be anti semitic to associate all Jews with the genocide carried out by apartheid Israel.

Munchie

f**k off its not anti semitic to distance a public place from a genocidal country. Apologists like yourself are pathetic.

Tiresome. People have seen through that 'antisemitic' bullsh*t ages ago were it is anti-Zionism. There are many Jews appalled by the actions of Israel...

It would yes. No idea what you are trying to say (I assume its sarcasm not playing well). Whitey also. Strange bedfellows.

What I am saying that is not the case here.. it is all to do with Israel and Herzogs action as an Israeli.

Jews for Palestine support the name change but obviously not the right Jews for you who has decided to label all the county councilors (all but one voted for it) anti semitic.

Munchie

What do these apologists make of the genocide and west bank shite that's happening, lets hail Israel. Unreal suppose bloody Sunday was fair game in their minds.

An argument that might have carried some weight if it was done say 5 years ago rather than in current circumstances. Its reactionary, performative, impotent, lash out nonsense that will achieve precisely nothing.

it has shown up people like you who label people anti semitic who conflate Jews with Israel and those who want to conflate the two.

the vote was taken in December 24 when a local football club requested the name change.

regardless of when it was done the zionists and their supporters would be out with the anti semitic claims like you have.

Truthsayer

Bit of research helps.. unless you also claim it all began on October 7th...

The park is currently named after Chaim Herzog who grew up in Dublin and later emigrated to Mandatory Palestine where he joined the Haganah Zionist Paramilitary Group in 1935. Herzog played a role in suppressing the Palestinian Revolution and served in the Israeli Occupying Forces (IOF) after the Nakba where he rose to the rank of Major-General.
He was the president of Israel from 1983-1993. His most famous political act came in 1975 while he was Israel's ambassador to the UN when he tore up a UN resolution that equated zionism with racism. His son, Isaac Herzog, is the current President of Israel and he visited the Rathgar Park with his family in 2018. Isaac Herzog has continuously sanctioned the ongoing genocide in Gaza. In December 2023 he was photographed signing artillery shells before they were fired into civilian populations in Gaza.

The Herzog family has been complicit in the oppression, displacement, murder and genocide inflicted on the Palestinian people since before the 1948 Nakba to the present genocide in Gaza
