What a day. Absolutely uge match next weekend against a Spurs team who are flying. I think if United beat Spurs next Saturday they will win the league.

I really thought Spurs were goosed for 4th when they mucked up away to Sunderland but credit to them for turning it around.

Rooney got clipped slightly and went down rolling about like someone had snapped his ankle. Once he saw the yellow card come out he was up on his feet as if nothing had happened. It was an absolute disgrace!

This is indeed the major talking point after todays football  ::) ::) ::)

It is if you are hurting!

Laois Lad, you're showing your age now, the Pool sponsored by CANDY, no doubt you have one of them, with Hysen or Piechnik on the back  :D

No names on the back of the jerseys back then :D
Forest lose again today Hoof, do they want this playoff or not?

If Spurs can hold out the League is back on. A real test of nerves from here on in. Could come down to the Chelsea Liverpool game :o

4th is gone for Liverpool now but they're very much fighting for a Europa League spot, they'll go 7th and only 2 points ahead of Everton if Villa win tomorrow.

To be fair, even if they'd nothing to play for, I'd still expect that liverpool would maintain the integrity of the League. After all, they did beat Blackburn in 95 which would have given United the League had they scored against West Ham.
There is no doubt Liverpool will go out to beat Chelsea, I wouldn't expect any less and would be very disapponted if they didn't go out to win regardless of it meant United won the league on the back of it.

they qualified for them last week, i think they dont want 3rd place, it's always a jinx, better off 5th or 6th. But sure it's a 4/1 chance no matter what. 22nd May could be some day - C'ship play-off final @ 3.00PM, Heineken Cup Final @ 5.00PM and Champions league final @ 7.45PM - lethal. A Forest, Munster, Barcelona treble for me (no offence to the Leinster men)

Is the championship playoff final not usually on the Monday?

World Cup has messed up the usual schedule.

So a good day after a dodgy couple of weeks. My weekend started with an unexpected surprise as I logged into my PaddyPower account yesterday. They had paid out on Chelski winning the league (I engage in a gambling practice called emotional hedging!) so I fired the winnings on city +1 and Chelski to beat Spurs. Thankfully my usual gambling curse kicked in and its back in the melting pot. When United win the league I end up with nothing in my account and its getting low now!

On the game today thought United were well on top in first half. Scholes controlled the game. Valencia led them a merry dance down the right and United should really have scored through Rooney or Giggs. city looked nervy and unsure of themselves. In the second half city had more of it and United were not as fluid, though still on top. Giggs again should have done better and lobbed Given but as the game approached the end it looked like a stalemate. The winning goal was really a superb header - people shouldn't miss that in the maelstrom. Berbatov had a similar, possibly easier chance ten minutes beforehand and therein you see the difference between a winner and a richly talented decoration. You simply have to play Rooney on one leg before Berbatov. Dsagree with the criticism of Gibson. Thought he did ok today and deserved his run ahead of Carrick. Vidic was immense again and gave Evans another armchair ride, though the crapness of Adebayor also helped.

correct, sure the FA Cup final is 2 weeks earlier this year.

Laois Lad, i hope you make wembley, and then hopefully next year we will both make Anfield  or City Griund 1

3 games left and I do not believe Chelsea will get 9 points from them.   Unfortunately I don't think United will either without a fully fit Rooney.   I think United will get 7 points max from those 3 games which means Chelsea need to lose one and we take it on goal diff or for Chelsea to draw 2 which is unlikely.

If there's still 1 point in it come the last game it will be interesting to see if Chelsea fill their pants against an already safe Wigan.

Pity Arsenal filled them today otherwise we could have had a 3 way outcome still a possibility come the last game for the 1st time in the history of the premiership.

Genuine question.

Is fullback alright? He has not been here for a month or so and I want to slag about your obsession with Scousers, but conscience of the fact that maybe something is wrong!
