Another important three points earned today against a Palace side who won their previous two games in Old Trafford.  Up to 3rd in the table and 6 points ahead of 6th placed Chelsea a big improvement from where Ruben Amorim left the team.

Tough run-in so plenty of work yet to secure Champions league football for next season.

Sticky enough first half, difference is now that you actually expect a reaction from the team which they definitely got.

Previously this would have petered out to a one nil home loss. Sesko definitely benefitting from Bruno playing further forward with attacking intent.

This gaffer cud of got a tune out of Aaron Wan-Bissaka the way he's turned things around

Shoe in for the full time job if they come third, interesting to see what he does with the war chest

Still think they need to build it from the back, basically a whole new back 4 needed, but Utd have got 'back on track' before only to spunk a pile on attacking players for it to come back and bite in the arse

Would you invite Rashford back into the mix for 26-27?

AWB was better than Dalot tbh and Carrick has him going rightly.

New left back definitely needed, centre back probably ok for now, right back   needed but Maz and Dalot are probably alright for now, main priority definitely midfielders, 3 probably needed to cope with the extra games next year be it Europa or Champions League.

I dont believe Carrick should.be given the job if CL qualification is delivered. He is doing well but isnt the longteem answer.
Also rashford wil lhopefully never play for united again. He spat the dummy, very few would take him back.

If, and its a big if considering the games to come and how close teams are around that spot, get a CL spot, he should at the very least get a year contract rolling, he's faired similar to OGS when he took the reigns, but rather than get bogged down on a 5 year deal with a big wage, give him the potential to get a big contract should he do similar after another season
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Out of interest who would you like to see as manager next year if not Carrick?  I agreed Rashford career at Man United is probably done.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Not sure if I'd give it to Carrick or not.

Not like theres a pile of top managers lining up looking the job, Enrique and Tuchel likely don't want it, after that the likes of Glasner would be as big or bigger risk than Carrick.

Tempted to say give him a 2 year deal and see how it fares out, bigger issue for me is the right players are brought in as the squad is paper thin at the minute and a Casemiro injury away from disaster in midfield.

2 year deal seems about right, deserves backing, who was Tuchel before he became Tuchel, Wenger had to start somewhere, as did Jose, etc. etc. You'd be insane not to give him the job if he comes 3rd which looks likely. Feel like Shaw Martinez Maguire Dalot and de Ligt are 6 months away from another crash, they need to bolster big time with at least 1 A list defender, and yes MF also massively, next year a whole other gig with European fixtures and Carabao Cup third round to plan for. Hard to believe that Ruben Neves pillock is rotting away in Saudi and him class

Mad to think United are third after such a  poor season.

4 or 5 Carrick wins  was all it took.

Chelsea Liverpool Villa Newcastle have all had disappointing seasons so  it's more to  do with that that United are currently third

Think the centre backs there at the minute are alright for now, De Ligt, Martinez and Maguire with Yoro and Heaven hopefully improving, Maz and Shaw could slot in if there was a complete crisis, next summer you'd be looking at possibly bringing in a top defender depending on how Yoro/Heaven develop but for this season the budget needs to go on the midfield and either a top left winger or left back depending on what the plans or for Dorgu.

Villa after their great start are looking like going back to their real level, Liverpool have started picking up points recently and could very possibly take 3rd place, Chelsea are decent but not amazing.

Think football in general isn't at the level it was at years ago, none of the big boys in Europe are that hot, Arsenal are a horrible team winning games from wrestling matches in corners, City and Liverpool are nowhere near the prime Pep/Klopp teams.

NAG1

I wonder is the drop in levels due to the fact that a lot of the big teams and players haven't had much down time over the past few seasons.

Or is the tactical approach now being adopted especially in the premier league where set pieces seem to be so valued.

Were much worse last season when finishing 15th. Ruben Amorim was sacked in 6th position or be it 11 points off Aston Villa in 3rd.

6 wins 2 draws and 20 points is what it took. Next best in the last 8 Premier League games is Man City with 17 points, their one defeat was against United.

Look-Up!

To be fair they have done well after an awful start. First 4 or 5 games they couldn't score a goal. Season a bit like that for everyone, you can be poor put then shoot up the table with any sort of form.
