Quote from: tiempo on January 12, 2026, 04:31:01 PMTuchel has to be their number 1 choice, problem is if they are outed as going after him or come to any sort of pre-agreement it'll take over the news cycle and derail Englands campaign (they're due to win the WC yeno), which Utd Wilcox and Sir Jim will then get the blame for, its beautifully poised for even more schadenfreude

Joacim Low interim and then assistant to Tuchel immediately after WC is the ticket they need

Any word on the stadium?
Wouldn't it be great if that news led to a pile of unrest and England out in the group stage

Quote from: Look-Up! on January 12, 2026, 03:38:40 PMJumping ship midseason certainly worked against Amorim.

It really is unfortunate he never got a full whack at it. I don't think his interview was an immediate sackable offence so obviously something more going on behind the scenes we'll never know about. I'd imagine a power struggle between Glazers and Radcliffe.

Amorim probably would have struggled to see beyond the remaining 18 months on his contract but we'll never know. But he wasn't afraid of the dirty work needed doing in the immediate term and could have left a very nice squad behind for the next man to deal with when he did eventually move on. As is, the new man will be dealing with a bit of a shit show and could be on a hiding to nothing in the short term.
The results probably warranted a sacking but thats not what he was sacked for. If he had them top of the league and had called the board out in the same way they'd have been looking him gone as well.

Criminal that they aren't making moves in January.
Would you really say he called the board out though? He was a bit thick in what he said but was hardly car crash stuff. Maybe should have been a bit more mature but you could say the same about the board. If they're that precious about a little dig maybe they're the ones unsuitable for the task.
Yeah you're right, was fairly mild compared to what they deserve but thats what got them sacked. Not sure who Wilcox thought he was trying to tell him how to play- you hired the fella knowing he liked the 343 system.

That's what makes me think there was a lot more too it than just the tactics, RA would have got the sense that no one at the club was too bought in too his 3-4-3 system, unless he is stupid which I don't think he is.

Think maybe more to do with the transfers and the lack of confidence in him being there in the longer term to work with any new signings he asked for.
Then you have the whole Ashworth fiasco going on last year. Did he bring Amorim in or was he anti-Amorim and fell out that they hired him? Lost track at this stage. Total chaos there when you think about it.

Ashworth didn't want Amiron.. He wanted Southgate.

Southgate.... Sackable offence that

Looking like Carrick with get the gig.

If it's a caretaker they are looking for, they shoud've look no future than Mr. Griffiths...dependable, takes no shit, and always a good match for the trouble makers

You know more than most, or seem more interested  ;D

Hard to miss the wall to wall media coverage Man United still get which is interesting when you consider how far the club have fallen since Fergusons retirement.

With a 600 million fanbase that will happen.
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Bad news sells better than good!

Sooo Carrick until the end of the year... wonder would he be better off coming on at about the 60 minute mark when Casemiro is goosed....

Not sure who he'll get in with him, hopefully he can steady the ship abit and push towards 5th with the lads coming back soon.

I wonder will the board be secretly hoping he does an Ole and gets the permanent job to save them having to look for a manager now..

gallsman

Sacked by Middlesbrough to "might have a shot at getting the United gig if they do ok".

Surely the supporters riot at that point, no?

tiempo

Wilcox doing this to dampen down the sniping from class of 92, total self-preservation and hoping against hope that Carrick pulls a rabbit out the hat to justify the Ruben sacking and give them a cheap Ole style option for 26/27

Thats Carrick who did worse in his time over Middlesborough than Keane at Sunderland, and wans talk credentials like it means anything

Norwich City flags at the ready

You'd like to think so. Get games called off etc

Capt Pat

It should have been OGS. When will they ever learn?

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Look-Up!

It is what it is. Waiting till summer probably the sensible option the way things are at the moment and options available. All a mess of their own making. Interesting to see how he handles the squad at his disposal and if he gets a better or worse tune than Amorim.

NAG1

Holland is an interesting appointment with MC, hopefully he will bring something to the table as an outsider.
