Does "potential" just mean young these days? Yoro has shown nothing since arriving at United that he has the potential to be a top level CB. Obviously he might turn out to be fantastic, but he's shown nothing like the quality of someone like, say, Huijsen who's only a few months older than him.

Yoro's definitely shown something from what I've seen of him- still very young for a centre back. He'd probably be thriving at another club.

Id agree, either him or Heaven paired with Maguire or De Ligt for an extended period of time in a back 4 and they would both come on massively.

Looking at that team today-

Lammens- potential
Dalot- waste of a pair of socks
Yoro- potential
Martinez- good player- would he be better in midfielder?
Dorgu- potenial
Ugarate- same as Dalot
Mainoo- potential
Bruno- good player obviously
Mount- when hes good he's good but need more from him and also always injured
Cunha- good player but just not getting enough output
Sesko- potential

Top that off with a totally inexperienced manager who's basically there as a yes man for the board and you're going to struggle. I can see big protests in the coming weeks.

On a positive note, Lacey definitely looks like a player. Good to see a bit of passion from him as well.

A couple of people commending young Lacey's "Passion." Away and give your head a wobble, absolute petulance and stupidity when on a yellow to slam the ball on the ground like that was only going be one outcome.
Game is in a bad way when you get sent off for that ffs.
Whether he is a kid or not he was booked a few minutes earlier. He got what he deserved. A yellow card everytime.he will learn from it. But may not fulfil his potential at United because of thr mess the club is in.
What was worse was fletcher complaining about it.
Card by the rules- the rules are daft. Sent off for displaying emotion ffs. Was surprised Fletcher had the balls to complain tbf.

Yeah Martinez seemed to think he was still playing in a 3 yesterday- felt sorry for Yoro who was left exposed a lot. I'd put Martinez in midfield when De Ligt is back as he can't be any worse than Ugarte.

He didn't get sent off for that, he got a yellow card for it. Referees cant go about making exceptions for teenage debutants. Harsh lesson to learn, but that's professional sport, you have to suck it up. As someone said already his challenge was awful anyway, and he could have went for that.

I hope Cunha isn't starting to go the way of many big name signings...had a great start but in recent games seems to be having less impact...had big hopes there but not sure now

I don't think any player deserves a second yellow for what he did. But oh well.

He's been playing out on the right a bit recently which doesn't suit him.

While there has been a big clamour to move away from three at the back with that formation Amorim was able to get Amad, Mbeumbo, Cunha, Bruno all in the team, by going to a four at the back makes this more difficult if that's what the next man choses to do.

Yeah tricky getting your best players on the field when they all play similar positions. Some sort of interchangeable  front 3 with Amad/Mbuemo/Cunha would probably be decent to watch, midfield 3 of Bruno/Mainoo/Martinez would be my choice as well.

Leaves Sesko on the bench which maybe isn't ideal when hes finally found a couple of goals lately but maybe change it depending on the opposition. Of all the attacking options for me only Amad would be nailed on to start going on current form.

tiempo

New GK who is decent pulling an Onana tribute gig not ideal last night
Dalot pure shocking
Mount pure skitter
Will be a lot better in that formation with Mazraoui and Mbeumo linking up on the right hand side and Casimero breaking up play
Personally think Mazraoui is the best LB option, no reason Yoro coulnd't shore up RB in the mould of Wes Brown, John O'Shea, Ben White - the team doesn't need 11 All Stars

quit yo jibbajabba

Think yer safe enough there for a while

Bogman

Still waiting for Dag Dog and all the positives to take from the game yesterday.
Tomorrow is not guaranteed

Say what you like about him, but Maguire showed more intent and drive in his ten minute cameo than most of the starting 11 did.

Get him fit and get back to basics, be hard to beat and then work from there.
