With arguably the 2 top managers available, surely United will need to get one of them. Three seasons have been wasted since Fergie retired. They can't afford another wasted 2 or 3 seasons appointing the wrong man again.

The appointments of Moyes and LVG may have been down to the unavailability of other more suitable managers at the time. With Jose and Pep now free, they have to move for one of them.

Until utd learn to play forward up the pitch at a bit of speed again not sideways and backwards like they have for a few years they are going nowhere ,might sound simplistic but I think it's true

It is simple, play wide and play attacking football at speed, create space for the likes of Mata and Martial and score more then your opponent.
Armagh, the one true love of a mans life.

Mourinho is a smart guy. If the United board told him he could have the job, so long as he tones down the tomfoolery, I can't see why he wouldn't be able to do it.
He does it all for show, rather than because of impulses he can't control.
It might be "urge of the flesh", BnM. Those Portuguese are very emotional, you know

If Mourinho goes to Man U the exposure of the club will be much higher and it will be easier to sell jerseys in China.
Win win for everyone !  Kerching !
Is that an opinion of your own or the opinion you read on a guardian article?
It was also in the IT .
Ken Early on the IT has wrote articles for the guardian.

Let us think about those less fortunate this Christmas who have fallen on hard times. 6 decades of the rosary for the theatre of dreams that the Lord may guide the Glazers to think of the football for a change.

LVG having a 'facts' moment!
Did he not have one of those a few weeks ago?
The fat Dutch waiter.....He's losing the plot.. ;D
When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

Fair play to him there - the press deserve a bit of a shoeing from time to time

The only way to shut the vulture media up is results! Taking them on head on with words just makes them more determined to twist the knife and gives them fodder for more headlines.

I thought he was  8)

He's a dead man walking at this stage I'd say but why should he sit and listen to 30 mins of leading questions from the press. Treated them with the contempt they deserve.

How does Carragher know what instruction Martial got? And how does a professional journalist not immediately ask that question?

Carragher's initial analysis was all based on what he thinks LVG instructs players. Complete bluffer

Maybe he's an idiot? Maybe he is instructed but we don't know.

Carragher keeps repeating "I think he's being instructed ".... Total guess work to fit the agenda. Does martial stay wide in every attack?

Accepting rubbish like this as analysis speaks to the readiness of the 'fan' to play his part in the whole charade

FFS Carragher is s tosser. Played like a donkey all his career and on a team of Tossers. Sky only have him on there for a giggle .

LVG was right to give the so called journalists a hosing. They are scum, the lot of them.

Only got around to looking at the Henry/Carragher piece. It's pretty good to be fair. However, I do not believe that LVG is instructing the players to not move or maintain their positions in the last third. When Rooney was out of the team and Martial played centrally there was a lot move movement, spontaneity than when the glorious captain plays. Martial looks a different player when Rooney is out. Henry is dead right about playing him centrally and building around him. It also must be said that there are no Messi's, Villa's, Henry's or E'too's in the United squad presently.
